From the cover look's like Cade's life is somewhat normal again. Normal for him anyway.

Well, given the fact that it seems he's shot up that photo from back when things are normal, I'd say things aren't normal.

Really? Since when has killing other than pure self-defense become ok? Do you hear what you're saying?
I'm going to go with "Since the dawn of civilization." In a war, you don't just kill for self defense, and certainly not just for "pure" self defense. Also, capital punishment has been accepted by many cultures, past and present.
Oh, back on topic you say? Yeah, I wouldn't say Cade's "back to normal," but I don't see him going after Rav as a Sith. Why would Rav have all the bounties in that case?

Well what are we basing "back to normal" on? At the moment, he's all Sith-eyed and he's dueling, and the cover is a picture of an old photo of him, taped to a locker, with blaster damage done to Rav's photographic head.

I wonder where that photo is located. The Mynock perhaps, where Cade and Jariah can take turns throwing darts at Rav's head? Or they just got tried and blasted his head in the photo. True, Jariah and Cade grew up on Rav's crew, but its somewhat obvious that they deeply hate him by now, considering how cruel he is. Or rather amoral might be a better word.
And at the moment, its hard to tell what normal will mean for Cade. He's stuck dueling the Dark Lord of the Sith right now, he's alone, though his friends are about to bail him out, but Cade's abilities are still Krayt's best chance for living longer, and not to mention that Wolf is probably still out there with his own plans for the last Skywalker.
Of course, in terms of dealing with problems, dealing with a pirate like Rav would probably be easier than dealing with Krayt so maybe Cade's just starting on his list of people he needs to deal with so they'll just leave him alone.

You know, looking at the picture, that's quite a nice haul they've got there. I'm a little curious as to who they pirated it from, given the gold skull in the middle.

Point. We do not know if everyone in that image is still alive at this point. The blurb says Cade is alive, but not whether he went Darkside too. Naxy and Syn might be no longer with us. Rav is alive because Cade wants him to quit that...

Not to mention its another similarity to the classic Goonies poster.

That's it! Thank you; I could not figure that out for the life of me.

I'm liking the idea that one of the things they looted in that photo was the Sith amulet mentioned in connection with Vector, and that it will end up in the possession of the Mynock crew after their altercation with Rav. Or at least one member of the crew, we don't know what it does yet, do we?

I don't think we know, though I did turn up one interesting fact. Someone said that it looked vaguely Yuuzhan Vong and I turned this up. With its name being the Muur Talisman (according to the KOTOR preview)....

Awesome post by Jon.
I really have nothing to add except that I wanted to state that I for one love the cover. It doesn't feel cartoony at all. I consider the sharper lines and lighter shot to give the impression of "Happier" times for Cade and Syn.
