it's occurred to me (and not for the first time) that Flow Walking is extremely volatile. i know that Jacen/Caedus mentions it's dangerous, but i don't think he's given it nearly enough thought.
don't get me wrong, i doubt any of the authors are thinking this broadly about the topic. but it does make one question as to how wise of a move it is. i'll explain.
i think of 'physical existence' the Force like that of an ocean. if you drop a rock in it, you make ripples. if you drop a bomb in it, you displace a large amount of water. if you throw 80 billions cubic tons of sand, you raise the level. the Force is largely based on cause and effect. this seems to manifest itself in lots of ways - for example the ebb and flow of Jedi v Sith or Light v Dark siders.
so, using a technique as potentially hazardous as Flow Walking (time travel) seems to bear a disastrous amount of potential consequence aside from just the obvious risk of being discovered in another time line. for example - if the Force is effected by everything and everyone that's apart of it, how does Jacen know when he's Flow Walking that he's not altering the space/time continuum in another part of the galaxy? and if he is, in what way?
i know there's no answer to this, but to me it's sort of like the
Tsar Bomba
- cool to have hanging around but not something you just carelessly toss out the window to see what will happen.

RE: Consequences of Flow Walking
I'm more concerned about its effect on reference material. What happens when the next Essential Chronology comes out and it gets to the part about Anakin and Tahiri's kiss on Myrkr? Did it happen or not happen? Or will we have to suffer through some footnote about how "originally they parted without kissing, but 13 years later, Jacen and Tahiri flow-walked back to the moment and..."?

I prefer an alternate explanation for that case. DNT doesn't make sense unless it's a closed causation loop.
