The coördinating conjunction -que is an enclitic and must be attached as part of the paratactic. The correct rendering is therefore Senatus PopulusQue Romanus--or to be even more pedantic, SENATVSPOPVLVSQVEROMANVS.

Not even close to being destroyed. In fact, the Jews revolted twice before the Romans even went close to making an attempt to stamp out Jewish culture, and, even after that, it thrived in Rome and Alexandria.

Or the Greeks (the destruction of Corinth in 146 BCE - the city was destroyed, all men killed and women and children enslaved) and the towns of Epirus in 167 BCE and enslavement of their entire populations)

Explain how this destroyed Greek culture.

and the Gauls (Caesar killing half of the population of Gaul in the 50's BCE).

And this destroyed Gallic culture...how?

Given you claim that Carthage wasn't destroyed, I'm not sure you had a point.

Just remember that "concession accepted" line where people claim that others are conceding when they really aren't is something that's now against the rules and well get edits or worse, so try to avoid that. tongue

I prefer a Galactic Empire that's a corrupt bully but with good people in it.

But not ALWAYS space nazis.
