Especially as it would be pretty awkward to have Vader on Dagobah in 19 BBY or 18 BBY, near where Yoda was. And there is an established background story for the Dark Side cave and it should not be jettisoned just because of a fundamentalistic reading of GL's script for ROTS.

I presume you mean the Bpfasshi Dark Jedi? If so, that's already been chucked out the window.

Really? Whoops, never mind my previous post then. This is why I hate Essential Guides, they always seem to retcon stuff that sorta makes sense and just end up making continuity even more messed up.

I just hope they retcon that whole retcon as being an error on Tionne's part, eventually.

Could be. I think it would be rather cool, in fact...

What do you mean with that last bit about the fundamentalistic reading?

Where did this happen ( the chucking, I mean )? In Leland's assertion that Yoda had never been to Dagobah before?

Ach, what is it with stuff from about 4000 years ago being rediscovered in the Skywalker-era?

I mean, did they ever find some sort of Jedi scrap from 2732 years ago?

Probably, but the sith were so plentiful in that time that most were just cheap knock-offs with "Made on Fondor" stamped on the bottom.

I know the meaning of the words you used, but I was wondering what you were referring to. Anyway, I think I know what you mean, now: the idea that Yoda's never been to Dagobah before?

Indeedy.

"Yoda surveys unfamilar surroundings..."

This, to someone interested in making all continuity fit as best as possible would = "Yoda has landed in a part of Dagobah he's never seen before"

To Leland Chee, who is employed to make continuity work together as well as possible, it somehow = "Yoda has never been to Dagobah before"

Which is, essentially, the same as saying: "Yoda had knew Dagobah would be a great place to hide by accident."

Leland, lovely bloke though he is, FTL. And I don't mean that he's faster than light wink

This is an imaginary story... aren't they all supposed to fit together, though?
An animated cartoon about Obi-Wan and Padawan Anakin would have made more sense.

Or he doesn't come to Dagobah that often.

Or...I give up. FTL indeed.

Agreed. This was a case of a retcon where it was entirely unnecessary. I tend to just ignore Leland's comments about it on the basis of that they're just, well, rediculous.

They need to focus on fixing real continuity problems, not wasting time with pedantic issues like this that most people wouldn't even have realised was a problem had they never brought it up. I guess if I ever visit Manchester it means I can't have lived in England my whole life because if Manchester is "unfamiliar" to me it means I've never been anywhere in the country? rolling_eyes

Seriously, this is a retcon that itself deserves to be retconed. If was just that they didn't like the Bfasshi story, they should just have Infinitised it, not used some convoluted excuse like this to get rid of it that only made them look dumb.
