Magnuskn posted:My take on why the comic is so disjointed: It is because the developers want to summarize what happened before the game begun and they are on a schedule. After all, the comic comes out only every two weeks, three pages at a time. If we assume ( yeah, yeah, I know about assumptions... ) that the game is supposed to come out in one year, that means we only have about 84 pages left to tell the whole backstory. So, basically what we have here is an infodump, which is overflowing with nods to the classes and which tries to give a general idea of how things went down before the start of the game.
Zorrixor posted:That's a fair point. This is more like the Chronicles on the KOTOR site than a "narrative" as such. It's just throwing out random bits and pieces of backstory. Instead of just a news bulletin saying "There will be Wookiees" they just throw out a Wookiee in the comic, but don't really go into it anymore than that. I think there may also be a question in how long they plan to run this. If the comic is intended to continue on indefinitely, then it's understandable that the quality sucks because it isn't really anything more than a novelty. We've just been so spoilt by all the high quality stuff coming out from Dark Horse that a normal webstrip feels a bit weak in contrast.
Cash_Fendar posted:I asked this in another thread, and was told to look here for answers: Is anyone else keeping up with The Old Republic online comic? How far back is it set? The Republic Soldiers don't look too much different than the ones created by Palpatine ( I mean as far as the armor goes). I did'nt think there was a Imperial vs. Republic thing back then either, I thought the Empire was created by Palpatine. I'm confused.
