Version C would have been the one.

Too bad Version D has become the Revelation cover... That's just 12 year old sissy Jacen with more shadows on his face and Darth Vader's lightsaber.

Question: why don't they hire Tsuyoshi Nagano to do the western novel covers, too? Jeez.

Odd thought, is Star Wars a visual medium?

Yup.

It just occurred to me that a large portion of why I couldn't take Jacen Solo's status as Darth Caedus seriously is that we didn't have any visual reference for his bad guys. I think I'd love LOTF a lot more if we had an Artbook.

Yup.

Indeed. When he was a mere name, he was nothing... nebulous... ill-defined. The image is part of what MADE him. The same too, I imagine, applies to Caedus. Maybe he'd win more with a pic, too.

Certainly looks better in the Mara's funeral illustration than anything else... Not a tough Sith Lord though, just a brooder.

But since it IS from Terry Moore, one of my favorite artists, the general concept is well done. happy

My thoughts on this comment as well as Darth_Hydra's comment about his hair being mussed up, is that serves his character real well at this point. It's pretty apparent that Jacen is losing his sanity and he isn't getting too much sleep now....those things usually lead to lack of caring about personal appearance. Head on over to your local psychiatric clinic and note how many of the depression patients don't seem too big on personal hygiene....

I'd like to see GAG Stormtrooper attire, Darth Caedus' evil uniform, and Flags.

Visually, they aren't impressive because I can't imagine what's so scary about them.

I can understand that. I've got a fairly fleshed out idea of them in my head and that may be one reason I've reacted more positively to LotF than a lot of people.

I assigned Christian Bale to be Jacen solo in my head.

It made him a lot scarier than Dawson's Sith.

You know, I think the lack of visual cues is what SW novels have been sorely lacking with the Del Rey period. We get fairly abstract images of Yuuzhan Vong that leave far too much to the imagination, and then there's innovations on the X-Wing that is supposed to be so great that we have no idea precisely what they look like. The Stealth-X could use a picture so I don't have to attemp to smash together the X-Wing with an F-117 on my own(that alone seems like a horrible idea to me anyways, but I digress). I guess the good thing coming out of the Legacy comics is that we are finally getting a sensible picture of the Yuuzhan Vong and their weaponry that kind of makes sense in the Star Wars universe versus the vague descriptions that seemed so out of place even as an extragalactic species with shocking bio-tech to the protagonists that it's often times very disjointed to attempt to visualize that whole thing.

I think Bantam holds a place in my heart precisely because it's not cumbersome to visualize the ships, tools, weapons and sets.

Honestly, I miss WEG.

I never felt WOTC lived up to them.

For those wanting to see what GAG troops look like, take a peek at the new SWM set: LotF.

That's...significantly less intimidating than I had imagined them as.
