	PADME: You've been gone five months . . . it's been very hard for me. I've never felt so alone. There's . . . ANAKIN: . . . Is there someone else? PADME: (peeved, angry) No! Why do you think that? Your jealousy upsets me so much, Anakin. I do nothing to betray you, yet you still don't trust me. Nothing has changed. ANAKIN: (sheepish) I'm afraid of losing you, Padme . . . that's all. PADME: I will never stop loving you, Anakin. My only fear is losing you. ANAKIN: It's just that I've never seen you like this . . . PADME: Something wonderful has happened. They look at each other for a long moment. PADME: (continuing) I'm . . . Annie, I'm pregnant. So.... Padme's preggers and barely (if at all) showing. 	I didn't think she looked really pregnant til the scene where Obi-Wan commented on Anakin being the father. 	Some women can be pregnant and barely ever show at all...even very slender women. And as was said...she was layered up...she probably was keeping it well concealed for a good long while, not only so she could let Anakin know herself...but to keep suspicions from growing about her and Anakin...if she hid it and then says she's been pregnant 3 months...speculators would do the math and know Anakin was off fighting and exclude him. My question is why in the world can't one of the most powerful force users EVER pick up the growing life inside her? He should've known the moment he saw her hiding behind the pillar! The only thing I can chalk this up to is the rampant selfishness Anakin was channeling at that moment. MY WOMAN MY WOMAN MY WOMAN MY WOMAN Which then becomes angry jealous channeling: THIS IS MY WOMAN! and then she drops the bomb. -----signature----- So Devaronian females are suppose to have thick fur, eh? 	Another thought that just came to mind...never really thought about it til now: Does anyone else have a hard time imagining Padme and Anakin hooking up? I mean, I don't know if this was a chemistry mistake in casting or just terrible writing...but the thought of the 2 of them in the sack is about as unnatural as Padme and Palpatine in the sack. i dunno...it's kind of a weird comment...but when she says she's pregnant...I'm left thinking...she must've cheated on him...these 2 didn't do it...can't be... The awkwardness of that whole relationship on film is just surreal. -----signature----- So Devaronian females are suppose to have thick fur, eh? Has anyone seen one outside an essential guide? ... 	A lot of that might be down to the chemistry of the actors involved though. Edit (to respond to jm's second post since my original response was to the first one).. Perhaps Vader was actively seeking his son in the Force but Palpy wasn't. There is some intimation during the Clone Wars comic where ObiWan calls Anakin to hunt down Asajj Ventress, Anakin is on leave with Padme and doesn't want to go, that they knew where he was and what he was doing. And with whom. While we know that attachemnts are forbidden, I get the impression that celibacy was not expected. Kind of hipocritical, to my mind at least, of the Jedi Order to be all "sex is okay, you just can't be committed about it." I mean, the EU backstory between Obi Wan and Siri Tachi makes it clear that the physical actions didn't bother them, just the fact that their emotional attachment was against the rules. IMHO, the Order had their heads in the sand about this. They should have known that alot of their Knights were stepping outside the "attachment is forbidden rule". See Kyle Katarn and Kam Solusar's fathers. Both Knights and both were married and had children. There HAD to have been more. Basically, I guess my point is that the Order was okay with Anakin and Padme. Just as long as they didn't do the moral, ethical and responsible thing and get married. -----signature----- Team Jag I may not always love the canon, but it amuses me so I read. Sara -- Told you so!
