This sounds great. I think that one of the reasons the old Lit Review forum had to go was that there was no discussion, there were simply individual reviewers posting their thoughts without any feedback or idea exchange, many threads being years old. This will make the process both fun and informative, I think.

This is incredibly exciting. And that's a great choice of books to start with. I'm looking forward to thinking about how some of the issues raised in I, Jedi relate to some of the ongoing issues in LotF and even things that cropped up in the NJO. Very cool.
Good luck, Becca, and congrats.

This, Super-Special Lit Book Review Club Thread Discussion Thingy! sound quite cool and I'd love to take part. I do have one question because I'm just starting Wraith Squadron.
Question: Does I, Jedi have any big Wraith Squadron series spoilers cause I'll have to skip the Discussion Thingy this book around if there are. You know, details on how they take Zsing goes down and all. Does Stackpole make many Allston references?

No. So far as I can remember, Stackpole didn't spoil anything of Wraith Squadron trilogy in I, Jedi. You're safe.
EDIT: Just looked it up, and he definitely didn't. I, Jedi came out a mere month after Wraith Squadron and before the later novels.

Excellent idea.
Looks like I'll be going down to the basement...
This thread is the boards put to good use.
I, Jedi was the JAT put to good use, so that's fitting.
Man... I, Jedi.
Was it 1999?

I read it on a plane to California, just before the Columbine shootings, right before the Vong, right before the Phantom Menace.

You can make suggestions to becca and me in this thread; we can't guarantee we'll go with everything that's suggested, but we'll certainly take requests into account. This thread will serve as the headquarters for the whole deal (which, if you haven't noticed becca's title, has been dubbed the 181st Imperial Discussion Group), and there will be a new thread for each month's book. I'll be editing links into the first post in this thread as threads are created.
And to touch on the JAT issue: no, we're never going to read books in conjunction; it's all about discussing a single book. However, there's absolutely nothing stopping you the poster from rereading the JAT as well in order to be better-prepared to discuss the ways the two link; in fact, I'd encourage people trying to make as many links and be as well-prepared as possible.

Looking forward to this! (though I can't promise I'll have the time to reread the book- I have so many backlogged I haven't read for the first time yet! )

It's awesome to see so many people excited about this!
As Havac said, Striker, please feel free to make suggestions here. We're looking to review books that haven't gotten as much attention first, so fair warning that TTT or JAT won't be up all that soon, but we will consider all suggestions.
Also just to second Hav's comments on the JAT/IJ issue, I'd also welcome any attempts to refresh knowledge of the JAT in order to make the I, Jedi discussion richer.
How does everyone like our new title? Personally I think it's spiffy! Perhaps we should edit the thread title accordingly?
Welcome to the 181st Imperial Discussion Group!
Because if you're going to be a discussion group, you might as well be a crack unit of elite TIE Readers under the command of Baron Fel. Or something.
The point is, we will rock. Yes, my friends, we will.

Thanks, Havac and Becca.
Then I'd like to suggest Lightsabers from the YJK.
