JohnJacksonMiller posted: The general notion that every issue should be friendly to new readers really should be part of the philosophy creators approach every comic book issue with — but particularly with "Vector" we knew that a disproportionate number of readers would be picking up the book for the first time (and the sales charts have proven this true).
This brings up an interesting topic. As someone who has a vested interest in the financial well-being of Star Wars comics (because I want them to continue being published forever), but no idea when or even if sales data is available, I have no clue how Vector has affected the sales of KotOR. Have the book's sales seen a nice bump? Pre-Vector, was the book doing okay? How do the sales of Star Wars comics today compare to, say, five years ago, when the prequel movie trilogy was in full swing?
Can anybody clue me in on this stuff?

I run a website devoted to this sort of thing called The Comics Chronicles -- and I also did a feature on early Star Wars sales for the latest Overstreet Price Guide. Everyone needs a hobby — mine is just also comics!
Looking just at the figures available publicly from Diamond, the first Vector issue appears to have been the best-seller of the series thus far. And all the relaunch books have done well, improving in many cases over the prequel era. But again, everything is relative, as sales were much higher in the 1990s when there were many more comics stores than there are today. And the main SW title 30 years ago sold something like 10 times what a book will today — enough to make it the #1 book in the comics industry at that time. Again, it was the only game in town, for the longest time, when it came to new SW material, so comparisons are complicated.

Thanks for the brief overview! Glad to hear the Vector is bringing in some new readers. I'm hopeful that a lot of them will want to stick around, since in my opinion, the writing in Star Wars comics has been at an all-time high over the past few years.

Hmm. Is that Coruscant? I really hope so, it would be great to see more of the KOTOR Era capital.
And Zayne will need all his true friends?! Woohoo! Another awesome character's gathering! I hope to see mreo of Carth, Alec, Rohlan, Momo brothers, heck even the gangs of Taris.
A Camper comeback...?

I was just thinking of how this new guy might do a good job when I saw this link.
Although I like the style itself, that's not Zayne... *sigh* He looks older and morose. And where did the sexy little sideburns went? *sniff*
When can we have Weaver of Ching back?

I was thinking that too.
JediAlly posted: Is it me, or is anyone else beginning to feel Zayne's story and ordeal are entering their final chapters?
It seems like a lot of things are happening, but I don't think it is. The series is really popular. Also, this might be the end of Feln, not the end of Zayne's struggle with the Covenant. Around the time of Knight of Suffering arc and Raana's death, I saw the #29 cover with the Feeorin guards, I was under the impression that the Covenant guys are going to go down one by one. Rana, Feln... Lucien & Krynda in the end.
At least I hope so.

Alright, found the link in the other thread. This looks to be one heck of an issue.
Oh, and I didn't even realize that was a filler artist. That's how good he is.

I think Swiftsure was actually identified as an Inexpungable-class in one of the issues of The Admiral's List.

Nice, very very nice. For just a one-issue arc, this is going to turn out very, very good, I can tell already. Though I already get the feeling that having all those ships controlled by one computer is going to blow up in their faces big time. And heh, Xamar certainly has a bit of a guilty mind, "no matter how good the prophecy, er, prediction" and all that. Oh, this is going to be excellent, not entirely sure how Zayne will get out of this, but he will of course. And the Moomos even name their turrets, oh I love them. If had to guess, the Williwaw will fly so insane, the computer will blow up or something like that. Well, at least they didn't name it Skynet or anything like that. And pretty nice artist too. A bit different from some of the normal styles, but an improvement over Exalted (and I didn't mind the art in Exalted that much either), so this looks like another great chapter in KotOR. Although Zayne looks a bit old, but oh well, the ships look excellent.
And was the Swiftsure mentioned in the Handbook? Well, I know it was the Handbook that mentioned the Inexpugnable-class ships were meant to coordinate Hammerheads, and to raise their sales and looks like it worked. Although after Zayne gets through their blockade somehow, their sales will probably drop again.

I have the same feeling about the computer thing-it is going to cost them big. Makes me wonder about the Admiral though...he is supposed to be some kind of military genius that is half the reason Malak was winning the Jedi Civil War, but he hasn't won a single battle yet. How is it he has been promoted instead of sacked?
*shrug*
Anyway, cool to see Onsai in a fighter, I hope we get to see his flying skills in action.
All in all, looking forward to it.
