I think it's coming out as a regular novel too.

A prediction, just based off of LOTF's favorite theme: The Millennium Falcon's going to die!

The book sounds really interesting, and Luceno is a good writer(as long as he does the Han of TUF and not his duology in NJO).
The title makes me fear for the Falcon and her Crew though.

Abridged audiobooks generally run about the same price as the hardcover, maybe $3-$5 more; however, they'll stay the same price when it's the audiobook of a paperback, because the production costs don't change when the format of the print version does.
Unabridged versions are more expensive than the abridged versions, because they're longer; you're generally looking at $40-$50 there.

Lord_Hydronium posted: I don't think I'm quite as cynical as Trip. The summary in the ad (which StarNeptune added to Wookieepedia, and I've copied into the Invincible thread) rings of LOTF wrap-up/next series set-up to me. Sort of Dark Nest by way of TUF, the latter appropriate given the author.
Thats kinda of a nice thought. Hopefully if its a set-up to the next series it won't have any foreshadowing of any good guy character going bad like DNT did with Jacen. Hopefully the next series will try to be an attempt at a rehash of the OT rather than the PT which is what we got with LOTF.
Note: Not that I want rehash'es mind you, I'm just saying if rehash'es must continue then let them be of the more hopeful stories. To be truthful, I'm hopeing that this is an indication that stand-alones are coming back.

Is this going to be like a regular book or even an e-book, or is this one we need to listen to? I prefer to read books rather than listen to them.

It's a regular novel.
It's just that the first way we learned about it was a listing for the audiobook adaptation of it.

I'd actually like to see the old Lucenopedia write his own book, something new and modern, so I can gain an idea of him as a writer--professionally, and broadly. I've only got his Robotech: Doomsday as a comparison.

Based on what I know about this novel, I'm so excited. I didn't expect it to be quite this soon, truthfully; but I'm so glad it is. It'll make for a very happy New Years gift.

does anyone have any clues as to what it's about (apart from the paragraph ath the end of invincible)
i dont really get into those type of SW novels (like death star) but the promise of some mysterieoius threat to th force is a real tease.
does anyone have an idea whta they're plannig or even any thoughts onw what they should do with it

Beyond the advert, no, except it's another relatively short novel at supposedly 320 pages and is placed either in 42 ABY or 43 ABY.

ATimson posted: Plus, they misspelled Millennium.
Why am I not surprised?
That's nothing. Invincible was riddled with spelling errors, and I was turned off from the moment I cracked the pages because they called it the "Galatic Civil War." When I read the acknowledgements page, I couldn't help but laugh: Troy Denning says thanks to "Laura Jorstad, for her careful copyediting under pressure (with my apologies)..."
It obviously wasn't a very high quality job there... and from that last, it seems that Denning wrote it/submitted it to the editors at the last minute, which is the reason for so many errors and the less-than-high-caliber novel that we're used to being put out by Denning.

Han Solo dies but has his consciousness transferred into the Falcon. He then changes his name to KITT and is flown by Michael the Jedi Knight.
But, seriously, I think we can all use another dash of technobabble describing just how much duct tape is holding the old girl together these days. Books even at the start of the EU described it as an old, obsolete relic and it's great to see it still taking a beating day in and day out. Even the Mando fighters "only" have .4 hyperdrives so, in at least that respect, the Falcon is still among the fastest ships in the galaxy. Kinda like how a vintage Shelby Mustang can still torch damn near everything.
