Good, James Luceno should freshen things up a bit. I'm looking forward to this book even more now!

do you think that invicnible's ending was change or the book refocused on jaina.
i mean wouldn't it make sense to have luke battle Cadues and then both die in an almight duel
Rouge77 is correct: we are still in the spoiler period for Invincible, so please use highlight-to-read for all spoilers, no matter how minor. For reference, please see the Spoiler Rules thread.

This isn't a spoiler thread, so shouldn't the near hints etc be still blacked out, or isn't it necessary anymore?

Hard to say; we don't know what she did catch of Denning's.

Even the Mando fighters "only" have .4 hyperdrives so, in at least that respect, the Falcon is still among the fastest ships in the galaxy. Kinda like how a vintage Shelby Mustang can still torch damn near everything.
To be fair, the "old girl" was completely overhauled by New Republic techs around the time of the Black Fleet Crisis. Han of course made some changes after that (including an ill-thought attempt to return her to stock configuration while mourning Chewie), but the ship is not in that bad a shape.

That's true, but that also is a great example of the type of info that a lot of fans like to learn about the Falcon. It's pretty hard to believe that Han hasn't continued tinkering with the Falcon for the past decade or so since it's one of his favorite pastimes.

I'd actually like to see the old Lucenopedia write his own book, something new and modern, so I can gain an idea of him as a writer--professionally, and broadly. I've only got his Robotech: Doomsday as a comparison.
I'm reading The Big Empty, by James Luceno, right now, and it's actually quite good. It took me a while to get into the Universe he created for the book, but once I did get into it, I found myself very interested in it. It was written in '93, and I found it at a used book shop back in December.

During the OT trilogy, the Falcon literally was very fast, but forty years later, not sure how much of an edge it still has.
Han is always tinkering with his baby, so i'm willing to bet that the edge is still sharp as hell.

My utilisation of complex locution to ask what's more pathetic, fans who worship their movie actors, or the actors who couldn't give a damn, is more a reflection of my own superincumbent mental actuity than any circumscribed lexicon. Don't you agree?

As far as we are aware, there have been no real ion drive improvements that have been mentioned in the canon and, to date, the 0.5 hyperdrive barrier hadn't really been broken at an economical scale (Jabitha and other Sekotan ships being one of the known exceptions to <0.5 rating drives, which is why I said "economical scale").
I guess I missed about Mandalorian fighters getting faster hyperdrives, but presumably that is only on the bes'kar-equipped/Mandalorian-only ones and not the sales versions to non-Mandalorian clients.
So, yes, the Millennium Falcon is probably still one of -- if not the -- fastest hunks of junk in the Galaxy.

I am fairly certain that the .4 drives are only on the Mando only ships. I'm not sure if the for export models have a different drive or, as seems likely, they use the same drive that hasn't been adjusted to operate as efficiently.

Yeah, the suped up versions with the .4 hyperdrives and proper armor are for Mandos only.

Looks great, but for some reason I though Troy Denning was doing it. Must've confused it with Invincible.
Anyway, I'm glad to see another Han-centric book. I'm also glad to see Jaina in it. However, I don't like that Luke and Ben are in it. I hope they only have minor roles. Also, I like the continuation of Daala as Chief.
The Wookiepedia description mentions a threat to the Jedi and Force. Does anyone else think this is the One Sith?
And question: When and where does the Millenium Falcon appear in Revenge of the Sith?

The Falcon was briefly shown when the Palps, Obi Wan, and Anakin were coming in for a landing at the senate spaceport, right after their landing.

How do we know it's the Falcon specifically, and not another generic YT-1300? Did we really get close enough to see the exact pattern of corrosion, as Wedge puts it?
