http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Dark_Horse_Announces_Clone_Wars_Series_114470.asp

I've just read this on the TFN news. The DH site doesn't say much about what the new series is going to involve except that it will be based on the new film and the upcoming TV series.

I was actually quite surprised by this news. The whole Clone Wars era is pretty well covered so far with the comics, novels, Tratakovsky's series... They are doing the new series, I was thinking ok, that's obviously the short time after when Anakin got an apprentice, before ROTS.
But now with the comics as well, it looks like every day of CW will be covered. It seems like there is a tad too much material for a relatively short time period (only 3 years).

It's 3 years, yes. In a galaxy with a million systems tongue

Take a look at a day-by-day history of WW2-it's almost ridiculous how much stuff was going on, and that was only one planet. We haven't scratched the surface of either the Rebellion or the Clone Wars, imo.

Actualy IIRC there is a 1 year gap between issues 67-68 or 68 -69 something like that.

I wonder who the creative team will be. I would love to see john write it in addition to writing legacy.

I was under the impression the comics would cover the TV series stuff. Ditto with the graphic novels. Yes, no, maybe?

If you mean adaptations, no. But since SoD involves Ahsoka, it will be during that 6 month timeframe.

The flip side is, look at a day-by-day history the WWII experiences of a guy and their friends and family, and a few opposing generals and world leaders.

Anyways, I think the Clone Wars stuff was previously announced. That's why Dark Times and Rebellion are going on hiatus.

Haven't heard of Luke Skywalker, Last Hope for the Galaxy before though.

Edit: Apparently it was announced back in March, so never mind.

Look at a decent number of the "Republic" comics. They cover the adventures of Quinlan Vos, Tholme and Aayla Secura. In a few places they are involved in stories with some of the major film characters, but for the most part they are on their own doing their thing. You don't need to know anything about any of them to get the gist of the Clone Wars...but they are good character with cool adventures that add depth to the entire thing.

With all of the other Jedi out there, they need only pick a few and weave their tales in.

That is true and I would be happy to get more material on some of the PT Jedi, but from what I've understood, this series will pretty much evolve main characters (plus Ashoka).

comic wise there is also a 4 month gap between Obsession and LOE. you could squeeze out a few outer rim sieges in that time.

They sure are detailing every story they can about the Clone Wars. I just hope it's something different from what we've already seen from the other Clone wars comics. Hopefully get some more attention to minor characters.
