Hmm... two thoughts occur to me if everything does end up being compact down...
1. Does this mean the whole three million clones stuff only applied to the first few months and that there was actually a much bigger Grand Army and that all the talk of 'wars on thousands of worlds' will take place in the subsequent period?
2. Will we actually get to see Victory-class Star Destroyers for a decent portion of the Clone Wars now?

Thank you Sin...but the point I was making was not that the title of the thread wasn't open to discussion...it could be totally wrong...but that doesn't mean it should be "stricken".
If you don't agree with the reasoning for why the OP titled the thread as such, then present your views.
To say "i think the title is wrong...remove it" is a gross abuse...and if it were to change now...after a number of mods have already posted in this thread...would be even more disturbing.
You can disagree...but you didn't start this thread...you don't get to pick the title.
Is it provocative? Certainly. But we all hope our titles generate interest or concern or delight or bemusement.
This is obviously a title to flag concern.
It's tastefully worded...it'd could've been much more crass.
It doesn't bode well in a discussion about reto-activily altering a fictional universe when we want to reto-actively alter reality.
It's what it is...deal with it.

Impressive... most impressive.
Ha, as awesome as that sounds right now, however, I won't hold you to anything.
At the minute I'm in the giddy pre-Star Wars movie phase so *ANY* thought of seeing the full thing makes me weep with tears of joy. The fact that Lucas is only really involved at a production and "story idea" level makes me feel a lot more comfortable too.
Seriously, this may look bad for the current canon right now (and it may very well be bad for the current canon) but... for the future of the GFFA - if not the present - as a whole, I think this will be a springboard into awesome. Even so, I can totally see and understand why people are upset and the points FourDot raised are good.
And people really shouldn't get my hopes up about the possibility of pushing back TPM and AotC in the timeline and making the Clone Wars a few years longer. In my "Movie Only" timeline, I've got the Clone Wars pegged at six-to-ten years long already

Sheesh. Since when is editing "retro-actively altering reality"? He's not asking us to forget what the thread title was at one point, or that the chocolate ration used to be half a pound, merely that it might serve to revise it. Considering all the clusterkriffery about positivity and not freaking out all the time that occured with dp's retirement as mod, I don't think it's an unreasonable request that the thread be named more diplomatically, even if it's not agreed with.

*considers*
I don't know, to that. Sure, it's an infringement of sorts to edit the title, but it generates hysteria even before you read the content. Some of us are pleased by it, or have managed to find some good from it - kudos to Trip and Zorrixor - but the title isn't constructive.
Nothing against provocative titles, to generate intrigue, but destructive versus constructive?
Which brings us all down to what we expect from the Mods and from each other, and from the community, generally...

Sabs was being tongue in cheek anyway. As far as I can tell, she's pretty optimistic about The Clone Wars.

Okedokes. I'm with you now, Matt. And we all believe you.
And, Ulicus, never fear, I'm dying to see Ventress kick Obi-Wan's backside in this movie. Tyranus having a Secret Apprentice kicks canon up a notch in the coolness factor. Tyranus should be planning Sidious' downfall already! By LoE, when he chooses to side with Sidious, it's not out of character considering he's lost Ventress at Boz Pity and has Sora Bulq trapped at Saluecami...

Much better, this title.
Folks, I just realized something: the quality argument has been largely missing from this debate.
I have all the Clone Wars books and comics, I've read them all, and I still have no clue how they progressed. I really don't know! Up until now, to really understand it, you had to delve even deeper - yes, into timelines and guides. I don't know about you, but I've always felt that was a missed opportunity. Now, if the Clone Wars cartoon makes that stuff more cohesive, who can be against that? If the Clone Wars become BETTER, who can be against that? Was Jedi Trial that good?
Sure, you might complain that they should come out and admit it, and they should, but what's more important? I care more about good product than about staffers' admissions.
Also... This new code of conduct... Doesn't it suggest not to criticize something you haven't seen yet?
