They showed the episode on Cartoon Network Friday night again. That might have something to do with it.

I'll have to take a closer look at the episode when I get a chance, but I seem to recall Ki-Adi deflecting blaster bolts while very deliberately dodging or ducking the sonic blasts. I too was watching to see if the "unblockable" quality of the Geonosian weapons would be upheld. It was always one of the things I liked about them...

The "Dorin" reference was spot-on how EU references should be used in the series - casual mention, like an easter egg to EU fans.

Ki-Adi can't make up his mind if he believes in luck or not. Early in the episode he says there is no such thing as luck and then later on he says "If we're lucky we can get to the rendezvous point" or something like that. thinking

That's indeed poor writing. The TCW writers need to pay attention. I believe their dialogue, much like the PT's dialogue, isn't their strongest.

Maybe Ki-Adi just likes to take the odd opportunity to be a ****, and thus it's not a contradictory philosophy wink

This is a continuity conundrum. I mean, what are the good folks at Wookieepedia going to do about this? Are they suppose to say Ki-Adi believes in luck? Or doesn't he? Or that he's a dirty-two-faced liar to Yularen?

This is clearly a breach of continuity, unlike any we've seen before. It's a catch-22. If we choose a side, whether Ki-Adi believes in luck or doesn't, we'll be violating another part of the show. It's a viscous cycle.

In fact, it's such a viscous cycle that the writer's don't realize the full implecations of what they've done. They've breached continuity within their own episode. That breach is going to open into a void of darkness, and unleash a force of pure evil... the likes of which have never before been seen... I'm going to get the fallout shelter ready right now....

Let's give the writer's at LUCASFILM and poor Ki-Adi a break. Most of the writers
at LUCASFILM are not of this Earth, and have a problem with the language(s).
As for Ki-Adi's apparent break in continuity, he's just as guilty as a blind person
saying, "I'll see you later," or something along those lines. Considering that Anakin
is married, Ahsoka is going dark faster than sunset at the equator, and Yoda and Obi-Wan
can't sense who Palpatine really is, Ki-Adi is actually one of the smarter Jedi.

"Adaption" is not an English word.
Ahsoka is annoying; seeing "Ashoka" typed is even more annoying.
"Begs the question" does not mean "raises the question"

I of course find that blaming Waru for every continuity flub in The Clone Wars appeases my soul.

Has anyone listened to the commentary track on the dvd release of season 1. I recommend just to get a glimpse of what the team knows of the EU and what is going on with the show.
