Mine would have to be Betrayal. Which one do you like the best?

EDIT- Yeah, sorry, we don't allow favorites threads- though you might want to try digging through the review threads we've had for the LOTF books, to get an idea of people's reactions to the various titles

Hydra speaks the truth. ^

Still...

Betrayal.

Still, Bloodlines, I liked a lot, regardless of the Corellian System getting messed about a bit (Centrepoint in the wrong place, no mention of the Five Worlds). Tempest, I thought, was a bit so-so. Exile was pretty awesome, not quite up there with Betrayal, but great overall.

Sacrifice I loved, for the most part - though I do wish Jacen had thoroughly kicked Mara's arse, rather than having had to resort to trickery. There were bits and pieces, however, that felt a bit "off" for me. Not nearly enough to detract from my enjoyment, however.

Inferno featured a great Luke, but it was around this time I realised that Caedus wasn't being portrayed as a particularly great threat and that Loltiff was running out of steam. Fury bored me to tears. Revelation... well, I really didn't like it. I've yet to read Invincible.

Hands down Bloodlines.

Something about it just grabs me.

#1. Inferno: best overall, and funniest - funnest, even. I think this is my favourite Star Wars novel in several years.

#2. Exile: best individual plotline in the Ben story, and a very sophisticated riff on ESB.

#3. Betrayal: arguably the most engaging novel in the series, and might have been best overall, if it wasn't let down by a somewhat weak ending. Superb description, characterization, and plotting. If only the plots from here - the Corellians, Han vs. Luke, Syal - had been picked up properly by the series. I'd have liked a nine-book series based on the premise of Betrayal.

Betrayal, by a landslide. I was genuinely intrigued by the direction Betrayal seemed to be taking the series. It was a great starting point for not only Jacen's fall, but a galaxy-spanning conflict between the GA and a renegade faction (Correllia).

Betrayal was a great book and had a good set up for the rest of the series, even if the rest was poorly executed

So far...

1. Betrayal: Allston really threw a perfect piece at us. Lumiya returned, the Corellians and GA were both as bad as each other from the word 'go', and the Solo-Skywalker-Antilles clan split in two. Syal was great, and Nelani remains the most poignant and tragic character out there. Darth Vectivus remains one of my favourite Sith, and we don't know hardly anything about him, amusingly.

2. Inferno: Alema Rar and One Sith, and Luke goes all out at Jacen. Incredibly interesting fleet battles seen at Balmorra, Kuat and Kashyyyk, and the Jedi finally leave. It was a great book of a Luke filled with grief, and him recovering from his mistake with Lumiya. There were three sides - GA, Confederation, Mandalorian - when we walked in, and by the end the Hapans and Jedi had left, making the war more complex and intriguing. Oh, and Ben's plot was interesting, I guess.

3. Revelation: The Battle of Fondor was very well done, and as confusing as it had to be. When the book began we had four sides - GA, Confederation, Hapan, Jedi, Mandalorian. By the end the GA had split, Daala had returned, and the Remnant had it's own smaller split, as the horror that was Pellaeon's death was thrown at us. Oh, and Ben's plot was interesting, I guess.

4. Exile: I rank this higher than Tempest because it had the Greater War the plot had spent three books trying to avoid starting even as Jacen was near the edge of ending it. A Confederation was born, and the duel on Gilatter, with Lumiya and Alema Rar appearing, even as Han and Leia did, even as Mara and Luke joined Jacen, was very well done. Even better was Lumiya winning against Luke and escaping. Oh, and Ben's plot was interesting, I guess. tongue Oh, and the Exiles were a great subplot - the Antilles-Terrik-Horn-Solo meeting is just what we needed. peace

5. Tempest: I put this here not for Aurra Sing, nor the somewhat confusing Han and Leia plotline, but for the final epic, where Lumiya and Alema Rar took on Luke and Mara and nearly killed Luke. With a proton bomb strapped to her chest, it was an impressive twist for our first story, and fully justified Jacen's fall even as he horrifically tried to kill his parents.

6. Sacrifice: This was ranked higher than Fury simply for Lumiya's last moment, which was an even bigger shock than Mara's death. Luke crosses a line, and then realises he has, shattering. Horrifying to the Nth degree.

7. Fury: A good read, showing Luke pulling himself back to the edge. I disagree with author decisions not to kill Kyle off, but it was excellent to see Kyp, Kyle, Corran, Saba, Jaden, Tyria, Cheriss and so many more characters. The One Sith were interesting, and Alema's death at Jag's hands poignant. I enjoyed this book a great deal.

8. Bloodlines: I wish more had happened in this, but the sum of this book remains that there were no substantial lightsaber fights - sadly - though the blockade provided a nice moral turning point, ditto the terrorism. Who did set it off?
Does it matter, now? Not especially, now. The perfect scene: Jacen's heart, unnecessary, shattering. Poignant.

EDIT: Last post!
