Wow, a bit tired right now after reading through the night, but I'll attempt to write a review anyway.
As many have noted, the book is rather short, especially for the ending of a nine-book arc. Denning does make good use of every page though, and even if some plots from the earlier books have been dropped he manages to bring up the majority of them. I also like how he focuses the entire book on the personal struggles. There is a few massive fleet battles going on, but since they're not central to the plot we don't get unnecessary details from them.
The duels were very well written, and I like that there is more to fighting than the clean and elegant style we see in the (very) PG movies. We get cracking bones, spilling blood and smelling corpses. Adds a nasty realism.
Explanation of Flow-walking? Thank you!
Luke is, as said many times before, probably the one with the most uneven characterization in the EU. In this book Denning gives us one of the best Lukes I've read, he is extremely powerful and does preform as you could expect from a Grand Master, even though is leadership mostly is of the mystic kind.
Some internal plot points seem rather strange, but I guess the might be brought up in later novels. Such as Jainas shatterpoint ability and the Fetts' involuntary exile.
And what about Zekk? So, we shoot down one of Jainas love interests and leave his survival uncertain. Haven't we done this before?
Not-so-subtle nods to Legacy. Well, it's about time, right? But why didn't they name the Moff that talked about the Mission "Rus"?
I think I'll stop there. Great book overall, I give it 7/10, and that could have been higher if it wasn't that it felt a bit rushed in parts due to the small page count.

i give a 7/10.
great writing, denning is always one of my faves for star wars. i only gave it that high because i thought he did as good as anyone could have given the story he was working with.
bad premise, bad plot, bad idea for the overall story, but very well done. the fact that i enjoyed reading a story that bad speaks a lot for his writing, so i had to give it a positive, if 5 is neutral.
as for the whole, "tidy quick ending"...i don't really hold that against the book, because if it DIDN'T have a clear resolution, we would have complained too...

1 out of 10. The book was horrible, had the worst characterizations ever, Redemption was completely forgotten...just an all around horrible book. Denning is supposed to be a better writer too, but this...makes even the worst fanfiction passable.

The Good:
The fully realized Darth Cadeus, Luke showing everyone that he he not only has a spine but a brain attatched to it as well. The dynamics between Ben and Tahiri I found their scenes some of the best in the LOTF series. Finally jabbing the saber through any possibility that the flow walking might bring Anakin back. The pace of the entire novel and of course seeing Boba and the rest of the bucket heads knocked on their backsides...hard. Getting to see mother and daughter Jedi working together. Han's character up till the Daala remark.
The Bad:
Seeing one of the most complex of the EU characters die, RIP Jacen. The lack of any mention of Wedge & Syal Antilles, Valin Horn or Seha Dorvald. That we mention Ailyn Vel, Mara Jade and Lt. Telbut but not one Jedi seems to care about Nelani Dinn. With as much fleet action occuring a scene or two of that action would have been nice. Why is Gavin Darklighter still fighting for the Alliance? Daala? Seriously Daala!? Why won't this novelty character go away! If I have to see this 'Military genuis' get beaten one more time I'll scream.
I'll say 8.6

I give it an 8.5/10.
I thought it was very well-written and entertaining, Denning did a great job of illustrating how far Jacen had fallen, and the jokes and flashbacks were an excellent touch. It was kind of short, and the ending was definitely rushed, though. Also, since some people brought it up, his handling of the 'shatterpoint' ability really bothered me - not because Luke knew it, but because that's not what shatterpoints are at all. The shatterpoint thing was mostly a metaphor, it's not just some magic Jedi ability that lets them break any substance with just a tap. Seriously, what the heck? "Oh, never have to worry about being taken prisoner again, I can just use shatterpoint on the walls of my cell!" Certain gems have shatterpoints. Situations sometimes have shatterpoints. Hardened steel does not. That part really bothered me, and I pray it doesn't reappear in the EU.

I'll go with 7.5. It would be higher if the ending wasn't so rushed.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, ven after the spoilers. I even got wet eyes when Han and Leia came to approach Jaina holding Jacen's body.
GOOD:
-Jaina was actually an interesting character to me in this book, and I felt for her a lot.
-Ben is a Skywalker, the only Jedi who seems to still believe in hope and redemption.
-Caedus was a great villain for the finale, and really was the same Jacen back in Betrayal, just a Sith now, he had gotten through his transition stage.
-Zel twins were great, both funny and mysterious. There's definitely something more to them.
BAD:
-Zekk's disappearance was bad, I have no idea what they're planning but Jaina should have at least chosen Jag before the battle.
-Daala as new GA leader was shocking and unbelievable at first, but it's definitely hilarious and a bit Palpatine-ish. Wouldn't be surprised if Daala planned this with Lumiya.
-Epilogue should have been longer, more reactions and a better view on the state of the galaxy now. Like the things below.
QUESTIONS:
-I wish we knew how the Jedi coalition and Confederation negotiated to bring everyone back to the GA, what was the compromise?
-Do they ever find the truth about Nelani? Lumiya and her role in the war? Vergere's true intentions?
-What about the Antilles family?
-Did the shatterpoint training help Jaina in her duel, or is it for the future?
-What's going to happen to Boba and Mirta? How badly was Mandalore assaulted, is their revival over? The Verpine seem to have definitely been crippled, but a word on their fate would have been appreciated.
-Han and Leia, especially Han, seem to be in denial and hopeully they'll snap out of it soon.
-What will happen with Tahiri? We know she is cooperating with the Jedi at the end.
-Did Jacen fully return to the light and redeem himself? Where's his body?
-I'm scared for Luke, he was both awesome but too cold and manipulative, seeming too "beyond" and acting like an Emperor, he must still be careful of the Dark Side.
I had a lot of questions, but they can be answered in time. I give this book a
9.6/10

I'd say 7/10.
Good conclusuion and both Jaina and Jancen fights where well written. Way too many dropped storyline at the end. Daala seems interesting but totally thrown in for shock value
My hope for a year or two of no mega series but instead single books dedicated to different groups of character. Millenium Falcon will deal with the past and the new Sith Threat. Lets get Karen to do a Mando Wrap up. Then we can have the Jag/Jaina/Daala Political novel.
Instead of doing a series you have free standing books that all hint towards the future. Then when we get the next Mega series dealing with the Jedi/Sith war that we all know is brewing.

I liked it. My only big complaint was that the ending seemed rushed. I wanted Caedus to die, and when he finally did, I was sad. I liked the focus on Jaina, and seeing her finally transform into "The Sword"
