No, Charles. I stalled buying it for ten years because I've always thought the art was particularly poor. Better looking comics have been created since Little Nemo, 1914.
Look, I'm not saying the stuff is bad. Just saying that I don't think it's the best, either - but that it could be expanded upon and still be made part of the best.

Way back in 1986 part of the impetus for the book Elektra: Assassin was to prove the US could do a story with art to match that which was coming out of Europe. While the US superheroes stuck with 4-colour art, Europe was embracing a wider array of methods. So compared to standard US superhero art, TOTJ comes out pretty good; set against some of the art being done in Europe - such as the work by Ezquerra on Judge Dredd: Wilderlands - and it is going to come off worse.
I'd suspect as a resident continental Watto can probably read French, which opens up a ton of good stuff with stunning art. How good art is is very much a case of what you're used to and where you are.

* Ulic is from Alderaan.
* Ulic has a brother named Cay.
* Ulic and his brother have trained since childhood under Master Arca.
* They have a surrogate brother named Tott Doneeta whose a Twilek.
* Ulic is kind of an idiot.
* Ulic is violent and wrathful (it's REPEATEDLY shown)
* Ulic does care about those around him but he's awkward in expressing it.
* Ulic is a failure as a Jedi Knight (he fails on numerous occasions) but the Jedi allow him to continue because his skill as a warrior is tremendous.
* Ulic is aware of the above failure but keeps trying and makes up for it by swaggering.
* Ulic wants revenge for Master Arca's death and won't allow anything to stop him.
* Ulic loves Nomi Sunrider but won't let that love get in the way of his revenge.
* Ulic is angry that Nomi tries to rescue him
* His expression seems to indicate he's also ashamed Nomi finds him in bed with Aleema.
Edit:
And if the people who are seriously arguing the Lord of Rings isn't one of the greatest classics of literature OF ALL time are the ones condemning TOTJ for not being any good then I'm not going to bother arguing with them anymore because surely they must be from Venus.
You left out the fact that Ulic's mother was Jedi Master that didn't train him or let anyone else train him, until she could no longer deny his strengths in the Force and let him and his brother be trained by Arca Jeth.

Does that appear in the material itself, or was that retconned in later?
I... can't remember.

Only me and Ex.
And... uh, I don't think either of us condemned TotJ at all. Though you never can tell with Ex. I like TotJ a lot, on the whole... well, I like the Dark Lords of the Sith arc immensely at least.
FWIW, there's a difference between hating or disliking something and not acknowledging it as a classic, too. I don't have to like something to understand that it possesses worth or merit. LotR does nothing for me - the actual plot, I quite like and appreciate - but the execution bores me to tears. I'm well aware that I'm going against the majority opinion in thinking that, however.

Heh.
You know, drop the "c" and you'd have reiterated one of the running jokes in #eu.
I've got an Oedipus complex in that regard, though.

I can understand this.
Probably the converse reason for why my eyes glaze over when another starfighter dogfight or a lightsaber duel starts in a book.
I just skim...make sure nobody died or anything important broke...and press on.
There only so many "s-foil rollovers" I can read before I just don't care anymore.

The cover art is an entirely different ballgame. That was some stuff the Europeans could learn from!

It works.
If it seems like this one is wrapping up, I'll give it a few days, and then start the next one. I'm rather enjoying the project and the reactions.

I confess, Nomi was the first female in comics I noticed.

The really funny thing is that the picture you posted is about the best she looks the entire series.
