Are these worth reading, im talking about Hard Contact, Triple Zero, True Colors, and Order 66...
For the sake of avoiding redundancy, let's take it to the thread linked below.

Triple Zero was pretty terrible, but the others are good. Order 66 hasn't come out yet, though.

Bottom line
Hard Contact: commendable
Triple Zero: utter boredom, no action scene, 400 pages of talking
True Colours: excellent, best yet

My utilisation of complex locution to ask what's more pathetic, fans who worship their movie actors, or the actors who couldn't give a damn, is more a reflection of my own superincumbent mental actuity than any circumscribed lexicon. Don't you agree?

I normally agree with you Ex, and while I do think that TZ almost needs the warning that it's a DRASTIC change from the other books, many people really liked the fact that there was a sudden shift towards a strictly character driven book, and the fact that the whole thing was a deep look at the life of soldiers.
It was almost a peacetime setting given the lack of combat, and given the previous title and expectations from the game, I can see how it could be jarring, but I think she really went for more of a character driven look at military persons as well as doing more of a "true" special forces novel; you see all the planning that's essentiall boring in special forces and then because they are good they knock over the bad guys in seconds at the end.
A good picture of military men and life, and a lot of RL soldiers from around the world have written her to complement her about that, but in the end, a more action driven story would have keep interest from all parties. And the lack of seeing the enemy as nothing but a faceless terrorist threat kinda hurt worse than them being droids. Since Traviss plays with moral ambiguity, it was a great chance to show what the Seppies believe, but it sorta got dropped in favour of a stronger and deeper look at the personal lives of the clones and a more introspective book.
I think TC is actually between the two, and manages to blend the needed action with the introspection in a way TZ didn't, and it's fantastic as a result.
