Congrats and I'm glad to see you're having so much fun with names happy

I don't think they'd want to name their kids after characters that are romantically involved. The fact that Star Wars had the Luke/Leia thing makes it weird enough already.

i've always (like.. forever!) wanted my first son to be called ben...
i think this is mainly due to the ben kenobi connection happy

though lost has sadly spoilt this a bit
as they decided to name THEIR character ben LINUS (same pronunciation, different spelling... grrrr i wasnt happy)
so its a good job i wont be having kids for a while! :P give people to forget the lost ben linus happy

congratulations on the twins mate.. best of luck to all of the family happy
as far as names go...
Luke and Leia! every time tongue
or Luke and Han :P with one of them having chewie as their middle name (hey! its not too bad, my nickname for all of secondary school was chewbacca! happy )
2 girls? erm... Leia and Jaina probably

what was han's girl in the han solo trilogy called? i seem to remember her having a nice name!
zannah is nice also...

If you actually do want Star Wars-connected names, I'd suggest not going too far overboard. Tarkin Jones sounds pretty cool, but it's probably going to draw some attention on the playground.

QFT. Remember, whatever you name these kids, they're going to have to live with those names for the rest of their lives. While drawing inspiration from your favorite saga isn't inherently a bad idea, it's the kids, for better or for worse, who are going to have to live with the consequences of that decision.

a suggestion.. if you want to go with one of the crazier names.. give them it as a middle name..
i know somebody with the middle name precious..
she hates it, but nobody knows it so it doesnt matter...

If you want to go all badass, name one of them Thrawn. You absolutely couldn't go wrong with that. Except, inevitably, when your children begin to read the actual novels, the other twin would probably start asking why he wasn't named Thrawn. That's when it's time to break the truth to him that he is the lesser loved of the two.

I guess Xizor would be pretty cool too. Especially if you had two boys -- I can see it now: "Thrawn and Xizor! Time for supper!!!"

Thrawn and Xizor would be amazing names. No one would ever mess with them at school. happy

And btw, I'm pretty sure that I'll have only girls when I become a father, and since I'm planning to name my first one Elizabeth... the second one will be Jaina. cool

Matt Stover writes Star Wars the way Shakespeare wrote Hamlet.
"I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Lord Tyranus himself!"
"Do you mean Count Dooku? What a curious coincidence. I trained the man who killed him."

Sorry JQMara for not anwswering.

No one has seemed to act like they know our kids are named after SW characters.

I just love how they both have the intitals of JAG though. That is so great!

As others have said. If you use well known SW names, they will get the hell beat out of them on the playground for it every single day. Not because they would be un-likable. But just because it draws unnecessary attention to them. You need to go for something that doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb to even a mild fellow fan, because your kids WILL tell everyone at school their parents are SW fans. That basically means no movie names and no major character names from EU Books, or the recent Legacy comics. Go for something obscure that not many will have read/recognise as a referance. E.g. Nomi or Vimi, Kiara from LOTF (Exile), Cassus, Gabrielle, e.t.c.

My suggestions would be:

Girls:

Nomi
Vimi
Kiara
Gabrielle
Tallisibeth (Works because her real name is mentioned about 3 times in the whole book, you'd have to be really hardcore to spot it)

Boys:

Cassus
Whie

Sorry for the lack of boys names BTW, their just seems to be a death of really minor male characters out their that don't have really silly names.

My utilisation of complex locution to ask what's more pathetic, fans who worship their
movie actors, or the actors who couldn't give a damn, is more a reflection of my own
superincumbent mental actuity than any circumscribed lexicon. Don't you agree?
