So obviously we know that it's canon now that people with prosthetics CANNOT cast (or be immune to) Sith lightning. This is the reason any depiction of pre-suit Vader doing so isn't accurate. How come Malak can do it? Or are we just supposed to that for artistic liberties?

I think it's the fact that Vader can't channel it through his body towards them. Only Malak's jaw is robotic.

I thought it was because he had a metal part and it would act more or less as a lightning rod.. any electricity coming from him would be radiated back at him, electrocuting him. Would be hilarious to see it come back and strike Malak in the face, haha.

If Vader didn't have a machine to help him breath, he probably could have found a say around the force lightning issue. Luke has a cyborg hand and that didn't stop him from throwing his version of force lightning at the slayers in TUF.

Edit: I forgot for a moment that Vader doesn't have natural feet or hands, so he couldn't shoot lightning anyways.

ONE cyborg hand.. he must channel the lightning through the other...
the lightning would fry his mechanical hand, or thats how i understand it..

Yeah, he used one hand, but I don't know if the mechanical had ever received any damage from force lightning. Luke probably can sheild it from any damage that it could receive.

It isn't that he had "a" mechanical part, it's that he had mechanical parts all over. "More machine than man," you could say. He required his equipment to stay alive, so he couldn't afford to fry it.

Makes me wonder why anyone bothered dueling Lumiya during LOTF. Just send a few jolts her way and BOOM.

Luke prefers to kill his crazy ex-girlfriends up close and personal.

Not to mention Luke was close enough to the darkside already that throwing around a darkside power was probably not a good idea.

Bah, electic judgement would've done the trick. How about the Droid Stun from KOTOR? Same effect on a woman that's practically droid herself.

Gameplay mechanics.

Lightning is inherently a power of the dark side, so sayeth the OS.

Sith lightning isn't mere electricity.
