I'm not sure Crimson Empire will ever get omnibused, we haven't heard anything from Randy on the upcoming omnibuses (omnibi?). The original Crimson Empire is pretty good and has great fight scenes. The second one, Crimson Empire II: Council of Blood, isn't as good IMO, and that's the one where Nom appears (and your avatar). You can find them both in their respective TPBs relatively easily but yeah, Nom is pretty much the only character in the series who comes back later on.

Crimson Empire will be Omnibused. When? Sometime in the next couple of years. Everything ends up Omnibused in the end.

Yeah, the first one is okay. The second is incredibly derided on these boards. The Nom Anor stuff is called the most interesting of the series. I think it's the only part of CEII that does get discussion.

Is The Corellian Trilogy relevant to the NJO?

I'm currently finishing up the Hand of Thrawn duology and will read Survivor's Quest, but wanted to see if I should go back before starting NJO. I've real most of the post ROTJ books except Corellian trilogy, Black Fleet Crisis, I, Jedi and the ones around Children of Jedi.

That's sorta the way I felt throughout the whole middle of the book. There isn't a whole lot that related to FotJ aside from the Seff scene and Luke's message, and also some select scenes with Allana. It was a good story, but in the end its pretty forgettable.

It is actually, Centerpoint Station plays a pretty big part in Jedi Eclipse and a bigger one in LotF. That doesn't mean its necessary to read the trilogy. To be honest, I found most of it boring and the first two books spend a little too much time setting things up for the last book. I think you'll just find yourself bored reading it, and besides Jedi Eclipse does a pretty good job of explaining the main events of the trilogy.

The Black Fleet Crisis isn't bad, but it doesn't hold much relevance to the NJO. It does a good job of fleshing out supporting characters such as Chewie, Lando, and even the droids, and the plot gets pretty interesting. It is kinda boring though, not as bad as the CT IMO but it's something watch out for. The BFC is far from required reading but look into it when you have the time.

And read I, Jedi. It's one of the best books of that particular era and covers the events of the JAT better than the JAT itself in some cases, and that's only half of the book. Definitely read it, its actually a good companion to the Hand of Thrawn books since they were written around the same time and share a few characters and plot details.

Cool thanks. I keep trying to catch up on EU novels, but after I go away and read some other stuff I come back and I'm even further behind.

I really liked I, Jedi too. Also it's the only book written entirely in first person which is a nice change. *hint to authors* I'd be open to another book like that about someone just starting off their Jedi journey */hint*

Read the trilogy if for no other reason than Showdown at Centerpoint. A blast of a read, and had one of the finest characters ever: Ossilege, and his slick scene ending liners.

BFC is a good read, but doesn't play that big a factor in subsequent events- a couple minor supporting characters are introduced, and the events of the trilogy are briefly followed up on in one subplot in an NJO book, but nothing super significant.

BFC itself breaks down into three plotlines- the A Plot with Leia and the Yevetha is solid, the B Plot with Lando is interesting in a Rendezvous With Rama type way, but has little or no bearing on the other plotlines, and the C Plot with Luke is, IMO, weak and mostly pointless (though aspects of it are used later on, it just pertains to a particular Force technique).

Is anyone else keeping up with The Old Republic online comic? How far back is it set? The Republic Soldiers don't look too much different than the ones created by Palpatine ( I mean as far as the armor goes). I did'nt think there was a Imperial vs. Republic thing back then either, I thought the Empire was created by Palpatine. I'm confused.

We've been discussing the comic, it's quality and story so far specifically on The Old Republic (Bioware MMO) [Was KotOR III/MMO?] thread.

Alright... so according to my receipt that I had tucked away in the middle of the book I last left off on two years ago I did buy Allegiance on the release date. Therefore, after 903 days of owning the book I finally finished it. I definitely dragged my brain through it at a slow pace because I just lost all interest getting back up to the chapter I left from the first time through.

I know I already asked on what books I should pick up next and I did find the TT for a cheap price on ebay. However, what books should I look out for? What books carry a consensus of not-worthyness? I definitely don't want to have a book looking back at me from the shelf just asking to be finished again.

Well, in my opinion you could skip TTT. But that's just me and I'm the absolute minority there^^, so j/k.

Crystal Star is uniformely considered skippable and horrible (can't judge that, didn't read it), as well as the Callista Trilogy. (Children of the Jedi, Darksaber, Planet of TWilight). Although I'm two books in and liked it so far wink . So, I'm probably not the right person to give advice - except, better look for yourself. Only you can decide what you do like and what bores you.

The books that generally seem to get lukewarm-to-negative responses by most users here would include The New Rebellion, Planet of Twilight (though Darksaber gets mixed to slightly positive), SWG Ruins of Dantooine, Jedi Trial, The Approaching Storm and, to a lesser extent, Children of the Jedi and the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy (though it does have it's fans).

Most of the others that aren't considered outright good seem to be more up to the individual as they have a more balanced set of fans and detractors.

We hang out over there *points to dark, dejected corner*.

But seriously it is a matter of preference. For just about any book you can find those who claim it the best and those who claim they will never read another SW book because it was so bad. My suggestion would be to read a couple more from the authors you already know you enjoy and then based on your opinions of those books seek out individuals who feel the same way, then ask for their suggestions.
