I believe he's talking about Ann Crispin's Han Solo trilogy published in the 90s. If you liked the first book (The Paradise Snare) I suggest you read the other two as well (The Hutt Gambit, Rebel Dawn). Brian Daley's trilogy (often called the "Han Solo Adventures") are not to be overlooked either. They don't have anything to do with the PT but they're very fun reads and they tie in nicely with Rebel Dawn. They're short novels so you'll typically find them collected together in some kind of omnibus.

That's right, thanks for clarification.
I found The Hutt Gambit and Rebel Dawn not as fascinating that the first book, but they provide some very valuable background on Empire, Rebellion and the Hutts, and they're still very good books.

Darth_Phoenixdude, have you checked out The Coruscant Nights Trilogy? It takes place right after Order 66. And try the X-wing books. They are ever so popular here in Lit and are quite possibly the strongest series in the EU.

I thought it was just me, but I also think that this series is the best one I have read so far. I started with the Med Star Duology, as I read on Wookieepedia that characters from that Duology also star in the Coruscant Nights Trilogy. I thought both Med Star books rocked! (Den Duhr, Kaird the Nediji and I-5YQ rule!) I finished the first part of the Coruscant Nights Trilogy recently and loved it too. However, I am reading the books chronologically now, so the first 5 Jude Watson novels of the Last Of The Jedi series are up first before I can read the second book of the Coruscant Nights Trilogy.

Does the Coruscant Nights Trilogy have a lot of Vader in it? Anyone?

The first one makes fairly good use of Vader. The third also uses Vader. Not as much as the first but he's in the climax. I don't recall much about the second book for some reason.

The second book actually has the most Vader, there's a lot of interaction between him and a certain character. The first book has one of the best Vader moments, but not enough Vader in general; in the third book his function is largely performed by a new character, such that he steps back and almost doesn't seem like himself as much as in the previous book. Unfortunately there is no Vader POV in the entire trilogy, and I thought the Maul and Sidious POV was one of the best things about Shadow Hunter. His role in the first book loosely ties into Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor.

Thanks. Would you recommend reading that series. I need something to hold me over until BANE 3 comes out. I'm not too interested in much else.

It has a lot of good parts overall, and the first book has a subplot which is kind of like a Shadows of the Empire prequel. However, there are a lot of sections where the characters sit around discussing their next move, especially in the first and third books; one of the books relies on an overpowered character who comes out of nowhere and seems at first glance somewhat unbalancing to the canon; the third book has an uncredited co-author and seems determined to promote Force revisionism on an equal footing with the classical view; and finally it should be noted that the series becomes increasingly prone to headdesk-class continuity/timeline errors which must be studiously ignored. Still, it's enjoyable despite the above drawbacks ( which merely reflect my own opinion in any event ).

The first Coruscant Nights book has Vader in it, but mostly it's through encounters with other characters, such as his personal aide Haninum Tyk Rhinann who is scared to death of him (who wouldn't be) and Nick Rostu. We do not get to see events from Anakin's perspective sadly, which would have been very interesting. Nevertheless, it's one of the best SW novels I have read so far. I haven't read the second and third part of this trilogy yet, so I do not know Vader's part in it.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I looked at other forums and couldn't find anywhere else it would really fit in either. Is there a plan to release the SW movies on Blue Ray any time soon?

Good question. Who knows?

Another question. Who has read The New Jedi Order series? Is it any good? I own all novels of this series, but I am intimidated by the size of the entire series. What do you people think?

Well, acquiring them is half the battle. So...

I've gone on at length about my love for this series on this thread. It's the greatest joy I've had from EU books. I'd say there are only 4 books or so that weren't of interest to me. The rest were pure joy. I'm going to link you to the previous page where I last posted my venerable list of the essential and not as essential novels in this outstanding series.

On the plus side, in each book of the series Vader is portrayed as quite powerful ( which makes sense in light of Dark Lord ).

The movie forums would probably be the best place to follow/ask in about video releases for the films (outside of The Clone Wars, in which case try LACWAC).

So far, nothing announced for a BRD release.
