I have a link to what seems to be the new scholastic series coming out in January. Looks like it'll take place during the rebellion. No word on the author. Personally I would have liked a Dooku/Qui-gon series or a series focusing on the teenage jedi during Legacy of the force. It's possible this might be a standalone but I doubt it.

Hopefully it will have Corwin Shelvay.

Hopefully Jude Watson is involved. I think her work stands out amoungst the young adult novels.

On one hand, I'd like to see Windham doing this, as he respects continuity and generally uses it well. On the other hand, I'd like to see him do an adult novel (No, not bow-chicka-wow). So...I dunno. Maybe a new author would be interesting here.

I've just started the final LOTJ book. I was thinking how this meta-series never let me down over the past nine (!) years. Even though Anakin might be considered a bit off and a bit too "evil" in Jedi Quest, it's still okay.

I'd really love a series that takes the universe of these novels a bit further, especially since LOTJ is showing the setup of resistance against the Empire (with several characters saying that the resistance fighters have to wait for the right moment to organize). It should start before EP4, though, so for me, Luke and Han wouldn't be really necessary.

Didn't Watson also write the Princess Leia book which retold EP4? I think this is an excellent opening for works in the rebel era.

And while we're at it: If the continuity goes on, we might get all new Young Jedi Knights at Yavin in... well... 2014? tongue

EDIT I just checked the Amazon entry, and there's actually two books that look exactly the same - except for the ISBN. They released the first two Jedi Quest books on the same day, too, but this early in the game, they might still announce the correct date once they've got the author... Still, I say it's at least a two-parter, and a series is obviously really likely.

Or one can choose to meet it with love.
Jacen had chosen.
But still, he was astonished to discover that the Universe could love him back.

Two things:

Although Alex Wheeler is announced as the author of this series, there is something curious about it... Googling this name does not turn up an author (or I did not look hard enough, and maybe someone will find out more about him). So I am not entirely sure if that it is the real name of the writer, or an alias, as an Alex Wheeler does turn up as a fictional character in Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew Files: Heart of Ice (also by Scholastic)...

And Amazon announced the series as:
It is a critical moment in the struggle between the Rebels and the Empire: the Force itself hangs in the balance, and all the hopes of the galaxy depend on the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and a host of other heroes....

Oh yeah, and a third thingy: knowing Scholastic, the book will probably be available half/late December...

edit: and another thing: in case somebody might think that Carolyn Keene is the true author, that's not going to happen as Carolyn Keene is an alias of Mildred Wirt Benson, the author of the original Nancy Drew series of mystery novels who was born in 1927 and died in 2002 (at age 96)...

Some people would probably celebrate. Others might cheer. And few would whine about it.

Who is Kyle Katarn? Okay, picture a god. Now imagine that god has a god.
Now imagine someone beat that god up.
That person is Kyle Katarn.
He's so awesome, there's really no way for me to accurately put into words just how awesome he is.

An alias seems likely - iirc Jude Watson was an alias. Writing Star Wars kids books ain't exactly high-status wink

Are you sure? I've seen my sister reading mystery books by Jude Watson. I snickered, but didn't inform her of the connection.

That would make her 75.

On Amazon early listings for many of the Jude Watson SW books were listed as being by "Judy Blundell." Perhaps these will be by Watson.
