Well, you're clearly in the minority. While there are similarities, the characters are different. Last I remember, when people have mechanical shoulders, their tissue doesn't regrow 10 years later. "Hi, my name is Sion. I know how to keep myself from breaking. But it looks like I haven't done that good of a job because I'm mostly cyborg!" And if the people at Darkhorse aren't smart enough to figure that out then they have no business using pre-existing characters. They might as well stick to creating their own and changing them when it suits them. But, I'm sure JJM's read enough about Sion and knows better. The whole point of the second game was to show the horrors of the Mandalorian Wars and to see what the evil that was spawned from them. Haazen is a victim(if he truly is)of Exar Kun and the Sith War. Best bet he's a precursor and will be dealt with before this series ends.

Or....they just changed it and gave him a mechanical shoulder.
When have comics ever been exact?
But seriously, it to me is a lot cheesier to have Lucien become a zombies that almost identically resembles his Undead Mentor than just have the Cyborg BE the Zombie.

Just what is similar? That they like to go shirtless? That they are both in possession of wounds?
That's it, really. Their wounds are nothing alike, their facial structure is nothing alike, their apparent ages are nothing alike, their shoulders are nothing alike, their eyes are nothing alike, their musculature is nothing alike, their feet are nothing alike . . .
Their similarities are only in the very broadest strokes: badly wounded men. Looked at in any closer detail, any similarities completely break down.

I’m going to interject some opinion into this matter because I know you are all waiting to hear what I have to say on the topic. So hear goes…Personally if I were to put money down, I think Lucien will become Darth Sion. Here is my thinking on the matter.
The obvious play on words Darth Sion, Lucien Draay, according to Master Vandar, being the “Scion” of an important family. Sion=Scion
Sion hates Jedi. Lucien hates the Sith. Both were more than willing to aggressively hunt the object of their hate to the ends of the galaxy. Conjecture: Once Lucien falls either from being betrayed or exiled from the order, that hate will be twisted around. Kinda like Anakin’s hatred.
Both seem to make rather rash decision in regards to seeking out that which they mean to destroy. Lucien killed the Padawans of Taris without consultation because he felt he must stop the rise of the sith. Sion almost blows himself up trying to kill the Exile at Peragus.
Lucien despises his “Failed Padawan” teacher Haazen. Conjecture: Lucien is badly wounded, damaged right eye, loses right arm, maybe more. In the end he becomes as wounded and broken as his “Failed Padawan” teacher that he despises. Ultimately, he winds up hating the very thing he becomes. And that hate for his teacher is now a self-loathing hatred for himself. He’ll need a whole lot of hate to keep his body together later on.
“Lucien is every bit the fighter his Father was.” Lucien Draay over comes his enemies through power and brute strength. He is woefully inadequate in using the Force for any of the more cerebral Jedi Force powers. Darth Sion also is a fighter, overcoming his enemies with brute strength and domination.
Darth Sion tries in vain to compete for the attention and approval of Kreia/Darth Traya (a mother-like figure to Sion), in much the same way Lucien tried so desperately to seek the approval of his mother Krynda.
Ultimately this is all speculation at this point. However, here is how I think it will go down. Haazen reveals the truth about his “Dark Intentions” in the final confrontations between Haazen, Zayne, and Lucien Lucien is badly wounded, Haazen is destroyed and Zayne succeeds at clearing his name, by throwing Lucien and The Covenant under the bus. Lucien is banished from the order and is put on trial for his crimes, somehow escapes. He ends up feeling betrayed by the order because he feels like he rooted out the Sith and stopped Haazen’s nefarious plotting in the end. He ends up being the one on the run, and the Revanchists take him in, who are at the same time breaking with the Jedi Order to go off and fight the Mandalorians. Eventually his fighting in the war brings him to the prespice of falling to the dark side, and he finds his way to the Trayus Academy to fully embrace the dark side.
Some of this assumes that Krynda is NOT Kreia, which I doubt she is. I still think Kreia was formerly Master Arren Kae; Handmaiden’s Mother; Revan’s First Master etc… I think Krynda is dead as per “The Rogue Moon Prophecy” where Q’anila finds Krynda dead.
Do you think it is possible that Zayne may die in the end of Vindication? Would the death of Alek’s friend, and noble Jedi, cause Alek to forsake the order because if the force does not protect such a good jedi then maybe the Jedi Code is not the right code to follow? Could any of that lead to the birth of Darth Malak? Thoughts anyone?
Sorry that is a lot of thoughts in one spot.
What do y’all think?

BUMP!!!! :-D Vindication part 1 is an excellent issue leading to this one..its gonna be probably one of the best KOTOR issues of this year!! from the looks of the last one it maybe similar to Claws of the Dragon - Legacy - the Legacy of Obi-Wan Kenobi but featuring Haazen and how he came to be one bad ass dark Jedi/Sith Lord from the Kun-Sith!

Yeah, let's just hope nothing delays it, I really hope this arc finishes up in 2008. They managed to finish up the Days/Nights/Daze/Knights arc in time, I think, let's hope they can repeat (or maybe surpass) that previous sucess).

I actually did that when the cover came out and it's pretty close. I didn't save it though since I thought I was just forcing myself to see it that way. But have a gander at the gems dangling there. Nihilus has two pendants.

I mentioned that when I first saw the cover.
I also recommend looking back at the helm of Dathka Graush a few issues back.
I always found it ominous that they went into so much detail about the helm and how it would supercharge someone's power when combined with the Sword of Somethingorother (do we know whether a "Magic Sword" need be a Sith Sword? could it be a fancy name for what is nothing but a lightsaber? Haazen's red lightsaber, perhaps? ). A mega Force-amplifying amulet of a mask would go a long way to helping explain Nihilus's uberpowers.
