Just read Shards and Claws of the Dragon back to back over the past couple of days. Really loved them both, terrific storytelling and great artwork throughout. I love how there is so so much scheming with pretty much everyone involved from the Sith to the Imps and everyone in between. Loved that Artoo popped up at the end of Shards, and I love the double twist with Corde - not only is she Cade's mommy but she's Nyna, too ! Nice !

Really looking forward to the next TPB even though its months away. Perhaps now that Im off from work for the summer Ill go to my local comic shop and maybe buy the back issues rather than wait until December.

Well, I just read all three TPBs back to back and I am really getting into this series! Claws is where things start to heat up. There was an ESB vibe going on which I dug, especially the end where the Mynock rescues Cade. Felt like Cloud City. And I'm okay with that adventurous feel from the OT, as long as the scenes don't become too similar to ones we have seen before.

I loved the twist with Cade's mom. There are some many cool story options there with her being an Imperial. It made me want to go back and read all these scenes with her again so see if it added up. And I like that it also means that that eyeball pilot is Cade's half sister.

The Obi-wan vs. Hett section was exciting. A lot of people have made an issue about Hett not having more of a personal connection with Cade, but I think there is more than enough of one. A) Hett knew Cade's sire Anakin and has lived through every Skywalker since. B) Hett needs Cade to save him, so he can't kill him which puts a cool spin their battles. If they had made Hett someone fro Luke's NJO, like Kyp, as people have suggested, there still wouldn't be any personal connection to Cade so what's the diff. I say.

I was worried about Vergere being a Sith, which I don't buy. And I'm happy to say that Legacy didn't confirm it either. Everything Vergere says is a lie anyway, and when she found out she had to leave she told Hett exactly what he needed to hear to save himself and escape. The stuff about Lumiya and Caedus was just Fett assuming. And since Vergere didn't believe in the light or dark side she didn't fear Hett falling.

Besides, even if Vergere was dark from her time with the Vong, who is to say coming back to her galaxy and meeting Jacen didn't change her and pull her back from the brink?

I was happy to see the Vong have a bigger presence in the series. I've always wanted to see them in comics and their new role as Jedi protectors is cool. Also, there was a glimpse of a Sith/Vong fight and I hope he see more of that because, unlike the Jedi, the Sith use dark powers to fight.

I loved the whole Sith backstory that was presented. It gave the series a menacing undercurrent. It was exactly the kind of conversation I was hoping we saw in TPM.

The new characters were enjoyable, particularly the Wookiee captain and the girl with the flight goggles. Though I am bummer my favorite Sith keept geting killed off. First the bad@ss Quarren with the whip in "Noob" and now the Twi'lik hand. The Twi'lik's relationship with Cade was intriguing, and I liked that he came back for her at the end and then she betrayed him. I lol'd when she called him an "idiot." I hope she really isn't dead because if so... what a waste. Their is potential for her and Cade and I think there is more drama to be had with them than with him and Blue, who doesn't do it for me. Syn, however, is growing and I no longer see him as a Quinlin knock off. happy

I do have a question about K'Kruk. Have they explained where he was prior to Legacy? Why wasn't he around during Luke's NJO? Everyone makes a big deal of him and his sweet hat, but I have yet to see why yet. He hasn't really done anything cool except calm the Vong down. Maybe there is more to him coming up that explains his fan following. I hope so.

Vergere is NOT a Sith. Krayt and Lumiya are lying.

I also like Legacy's renewed focus on the Vong. I like how the sabotage of the Vongforming was the catalyst for the Sith-Imperial War, but I especially like how the creators are featuring them fairly prominently, unlike in the novels where they seem to have been completely written off.

This series has single-handedly kept my interest in Star Wars, after the debacle of LotF. I loved the first two, and this third one was even better.

I only wish the TPBs came out closer together. Sucks having to wait until December to read the next part (no stores around my area sell the individual comics, so I have to wait for the TPBs to read them).

Yea, same here, although I do have a local comic shop near me. I prefer to read everything in one handy volume, though (especially since the TPBs take up less room than individual issues).

TFAW has volume 3 at half price, so I snapped it. But until I get volume 2, I can't read it. D'oh!

Brillaint!

That's all I can say about this comic. Comic? Han's dandruff, this was book reading. So many subplots and players, family ties and power factions. You've never read a protaganist like Cade so smartmouth and sharp -- you might as well kill him if he softens up, his quip when facing three of the deadliest Sithies at the end was hilarious.

I knew there was something going on between Nyna and Corde, for I am Excellence after all, so I was staring hard at the faces trying to spot a connection, so wasn't surprised at teh last panel. But this is what makes the Legacy artists so cool -- they give you epilogue surprises like this.

The TIE Predators look utterly ridiculous, but the flight chat was classic Stackpole, and the family tension great to read.

I haven't read the Shards TPB before it, but I guess the hidden surprise it talked about was Artoo. Jool was well presented too. You don't get the typical fat male worm, you have a bejewelled female of high-air flair. I really liked her. Cade did too. Thought he'd kiss her.

Is Sazen really a Zabrak? Because he and Cade share a similar visage . . . removed of his facial mask. thinking

And you got some serious background. Wyyrlock is a father. Talon was conversational about his past. Nihl was fretting . . .

Don't think I don't know what you have planned for Nihl, Ostrander! Has no one thought to ask themselves why Nihl is the only Sith not crimson? Oh, this will be good . . .

On the Theforce.net news page, it says that it'll have issues #20-22 and #27, which should be... the Alliance arc, Indomitable and Retribution (at least I think that was what #22 was called) and #27 has Darth Wrrylok playing Indiana Jones. I'm kind of disappointed that it'll only have four issues, but at least it'll come out this year, and on Christmas Eve too! At least I hope it comes out this year and isn't delayed or anything. I find it odd that they're cutting out the Cade and Jedi issues (#23-26), they had a 7-issue TPB with Shards, didn't they? Although #20-#27 would probably be an eight issue TPB, so that's probably too long for them, so instead they just took the GA Core Fleet arc, added the Sith oneshot and will put the whole Cade-Jedi arc somewhere else. Although not sure where they'd put it, as I thought the Vector arcs would all be published together in two TPBs? Unless the fifth Legacy TPB just has #23-26, so the fourth and fifth TPB would be relatively short 4-issue TPBs. Though I'm probably getting ahead of myself as we just barely got the third Legacy TPB. Don't really care for the cover they chose to used for the TPB, although its probably the most... striking. I wish they could've used one of the GA covers, but oh well. Here's hoping its out in time for Christmas!

Volume #4 is confirmed to contain #20-22 and 27. Vector volume 1 will be released early 2009 probably followed sometime by Volume #5 which will almost definitely contain #23-26. Sometime after that, Vector Volume #2 will be released containing Rebellion and Legacy. So It will look like this:

Volume #4- December
Vector #1- Early 2009
Volume #5
Vector #2
