This is the problem I have with the extract (I won't get into my problems with the article as a whole). Certainly, I don't like Vergere being a Sith (Sith trained? Sure, I can go with it) but what I object to the most is that she's now - apparantly - responsible for Lumiya being a Sith. It's ridiculous.
So, bets on Part 2 of the article claiming Bane never was a real Darth either because all he had was a holocron?

It'll all be fine, Ulicus. It'll be one of those 'anything it says that canon doesn't is canon, but anything canon does and the articles wrong, ignore' articles, at the end of the day. I was angry before. Jacen Skywalker and Vergere being a better Sith than Lumiya just really irritated me.

Also I think the mere fact that Sinre threatened to disregard a piece of canon is reason enough to declare that the end times must be coming. *glances about nervously for animals speaking with the voices of men*
Also I'd point out that if we can trust an article which gets a major protagonist's name wrong, it would seem for the first time to confirm that Vergere and Lumiya met. Otherwise all we have is the story Lumiya told One Sith about how she met with Vergere and Vergere conveniently liked her ideas better than Darth Krayt's. Blargh.
That said, I have to agree with Zorrixor. Despite being an absolutely unmoveable advocate of the Vergere =/= Sith camp, the problem with this article isn't that it seems to indicate clearly that this is LFL's official (and disappointing) position on her status, the problem is that the article makes no sense and is poorly written and researched to the point they got Jacen Solo's - arguably the biggest character outside the Big Three currently in the EU - name wrong!

Okay, now I'm starting to understand what a botched mess this all is. Man...
Has anyone written WOTC and pointed out how horribly wrong they are? I mean, "Jacen Skywalker"? If that doesn't point to someone not doing their job right, I don't know what does. This being online material, it'd be very easy to rework and put up again--in it's newly corrected form.
To their credit, I don't think they're TRYING to mess up continuity...they just don't want to take the time to look through it all first. A shame, really, to say the least.

Really they(Delrey and Darkhorse) should have left Vergere alone after NJO. I simply cant wrap my brain around why they would make such a huge effort ti undermine their own work(In Delreys case).

Lumiya stated herself that she and Vergere were not actually Sith-just candidates. Anyway there's no way Vergere can actually be a Sith even if she trained a little with Palpatine. The same story says she tried to kill him and followed the potentium.
Vergere studied Dooku's behaviour first-so she can't have started training with Palpatine until a little after TPM. She left the galaxy two years later. I know Jacen Solo was a Sith for a few weeks but c'mon! Vergere had at most two years training yet she knew more than Lumiya, who'd been training for year? Seriously!
Besides I still think it was a lie Lumiya used to entice Jacen. He was agains't being a Sith until he thought Vergere had been one.
Just goes to show what happens when DR don't wrap up loose ends.

Yeah, the whole thing makes so incredibly little sense and seems very poorly researched, so I think it's safe to chalk it up to a writer not really knowing what he's talking about and completely ignore it. Plenty of secondhand sources have goofed before in misunderstanding something and presenting it incorrectly. You treat it like the error it is, not like canon, and move on.

Coming next year... Jacen Solo returns after being frozen in carbonite in Traitor. Jacen Skywalker replaced him and he was up to no good at all. He was a bad 'un, there's no mistaking. Watch as Jacen Skywalker battles the ever vague concept of A Threat To The Force (TM) and then watch as continuity melts away in the lava seas of Mustafar.
