ugh.
I'm gonna start a petition to get any material originating from WOTC as non-canon.
That'll take care of about 1/5 of the problem.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say this is just an erroneous article and shouldn't hold too much bearing on canon. I mean, seriously.
Though, if the author is reading this, I do hope that he can do a bit more research of established canon and come back with a tighter piece. Hey, mistakes happen.
Yet...on the other hand. I'm coming around to this Jacen Skywalker concept. It's like the Man in the Iron Mask or something. He could come back all "How dare you drag my name through the mud, you imposter!" Though, when did Jacen Solo take over from Jacen Skywalker? And, who is Jacen Skywalker's mother? Hm...the conspiracies abound.
Man, we need another thread for this subject alone

Lumiya, by Luke. Jacen Skywalker wasn't born genetically or even physically identical to Jacen Solo... but he was shaped that way. 
Millennium Falcon will expose this conspiracy and reunite the Solos with their lost son/twin. 
Though it makes Allana Luke's granddaughter, as opposed to Han and Leia's.  She takes the last name Skywalker and is the ancestor of Kol and Cade. 
Edit: The worst thing is that I *like* this theory now.

So Jacen Skywalker, son of Luke and Lumiya... brother of Brisha Syo? We need a twin sister for him, Brisha Syo fits.
PS: Or is Jacen Skywalker finally the revelation that Luke/Leia actually had happened unbeknownst to Han?

But seriously, aside from all of the things that don't make sense about Vergere being a Sith, there simply is no good reason to smack down the ambiguity. It doesn't really help the overall story in any way. It does however diminish several characters...
1. Lumiya. She's clearly done her homework on Jacen Solo and knows how to push his buttons. She appears to be a very intelligent, devious woman when observing her manipulations. In retrospect, this makes her basically a lackey messenger carrying out the final stages of Vergere's Master Plan.
2. Luke Skywalker. So the being that tortured his nephew is in a jail cell so he goes to chat her up. A few neat force tricks, unresolved claims, and questions that Luke wasn't sure of the answer to later.....Luke is incorporating some of her ideas into the New Jedi Order philosophy. OOOPS! I ditched what Obi-Wan and Yoda taught me in favor of what I learned in a few hours talking with a Sith.
3. Jacen Solo. Five year sojourn? Journey to find the true nature of the force? Who cares.....he apparently was karked from SbS onward and faithfully plodded along a path mapped out by a Sith years prior.

The way I see it, the only requirement to be an official Sith is that there aren't any other Sith around who are powerful enough to dispute your claim (probably violently) .

Yeah, let's not forget the fact that Abel has contributed so much to fixing continuity through WOTC. We shouldn't be ready to dismiss all of it over an article that seems a bit botched. 
Getting rid of ambiguity doesn't bother me. But it seems that, in doing so, it's contradicting Abel's stuff that worked so hard to make everything fit in a nice, respectable, interesting package (correct me if I'm wrong, because I hope I am). I can't go for that, no, no. No can do.
