The problem with this kind of reasoning is that you can't just skip Vector to get from Knights of Suffering to Vindication and for all we know Vector's 4 issue limit could have actually sped up the story. Even if they only put 1 issue between Vindication and KoS you'd at most be 3 issues further into Zayne v. Covenant. Anyway, Zayne needs to go on sidequests to build up his XP

As such, I think it works quite well. Vector by itself... hmm. I'm not sure. But then, I'm not entirely sure it's supposed to work on its own. It's not quite like Civil War in that regard, I don't think. It's not supposed to be self-contained: it's supposed to fit seamlessly (or as close to it as possible) with the existing setting, and simply be a point of continuity between them in a unique way.
