Until that first official announcement or press release, we won't know whether it's Post LOTF but I'm willing to bet 1,000,000 Republic Credits that it is post-LOTF.
"Republic credits?Republic credits are no good here!"
"FINE!"
Well, I still bet it's Post-LOTF.
They have James Luceno writing a "fun escapist novel" dealing with Han, Leia and Allana.
Knowing Aaron's past deeds in SW EU, I'm betting this possible trilogy deals with Jaina, Jag (Aaron knows them well--Rebel Dream), Luke, Ben, Wedge, Tycho and the Jedi Order.
Of course, that particular bet isn't exactly a no-brainer with the title being Fate of the Jedi 1. We know he'll touch upon Wedge, Syri and Tycho in retirement and given the title, there will be Jaina, Luke and Ben there since those three Jedi are destined to motivate whatever fate is coming.
Definitely can't wait for next March.

Not having really read anything post-Dark Nest, I only have some vague knowledge
Like Jacen turns Sith and kills Mara and then Jaina has to kill him, and he turns back at like, the last second, I think.
So if it's after all of that, here's hoping the Wraiths pop up! Yes, yes yes!
If not, I'd LOVE to see him do a story set in the prequel era.
Woohoo!!!
(We need a spoiler black out option)

Don't know if these news have been discussed already:
Fate of the Jedi is new 9-book-series that is set after Millennium Falcon. It will be written by Aaron Allston, Troy Denning and Christie Golden (author of Star Trek, Angel, Buffy, etc.).
The series will feature Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa Solo, Ben Skywalker and Jaina Solo.
Luke and Ben will be on a journey together and the other characters will stay at home and deal with the post-LOTF situation.

Equally curious about your source here...
Especially given all the criticism towards the LOTF organization of switching off three writers back-to-back-to-back.

Championships by Tom Emanski! (Wonders if anyone else gets the reference)
I'm rather curious as to where you got this info from. Troy Denning huh? If true, we'd better start fearing for Jaina's and Ben's lives...

I'm pretty sure Denning has learned his lesson. Though if he is scheduled to do the final book... nah, he wouldn't, would he? LOL.

You should have made it clear that it wasn't just a harmless test phrase!

Our thoughts precisely, Sir Havac.
There will be a Maelstrom of Dark Side Energy if this is true...
But nobody has been able to confirm it.
I'm not saying it's NOT TRUE..JohnTheRevelator may have been privy to the upcoming press release for Fate of the Jedi 1 (Sue has mentioned that she can't comment on the new Aaron Allston book until an announcement is ready).
But John...Until we know your source is trusted...or until the official press release is given, we all have our doubts here.
If you're sending in an exclusive scoop, I'd send it to TheForce.net's main guys...Let them publish the story at least first rather than have it at the messageboards. Be sure to tell them your source and ask for anonymity if it's inside.
I still can't believe that Del Rey or LFL would repeat the disasterous continuity problems of having three authors switch off three novels a piece though...

If they were to do the LOTF thing again, but make it a trilogy of trilogies rather than the silly trade-off game they played, it might actually work. Not that I'm in favor of another big multi-author series, but DR could slowly be learning and improving their formula every time. Eventually they will get it right by publishing the X-wing series, at which point the space-time continuum will be destroyed.
