Jaina Solo. She was always my favorite of the Solo kids. Now she's the only one left.

Caedus attempts to persuade Jaina of his intentions to protect Tenel Ka and Allana, but blinded by mistrust for Caedus, Jaina refuses to trust him, attacking him after he deactivates and holsters his lightsaber, and later slamming the door shut in his face when he tries to leave the fight. After a grueling battle in which both are seriously injured, Caedus is defeated when Jaina severs his Achilles tendon, leaving him lying on the floor, his lightsaber hanging limply like a cane, before stabbing him in the heart. As he dies, Jacen does not seek revenge, but instead reaches out to both his former lover and his child through the Force, warning them to flee from an approaching bio-warfare attack designed by his allies - the Imperial Remnant - to kill them.
Jaina is the second member of the Skywalker-Solo family to kill an opponent when the latter is defenseless or refuses to fight back, during the post-ROTJ years. Luke was the first when he killed Lumiya. Will this become a bad habit within the family? Or is this a habit that the Jedi have failed to avoid over the years?

Ben is up and coming. Is Anakin Solo a possibility -- as a Force Ghost? Count Jacen on that Force Ghost list, too -- Solo not Skywalker. LOL.
Cade for sure, he's interesting enough so far.
I'm burnt out on Jaina from LOTF -- something about the way she was handled or the lack thereof.
Amelia -- ZERO interest in. Maybe when she is grown up.

This focus of the next generation would have been alot simpler if they hadn't killed off as many characters as they did in the NJO and LOTF, Anakin, Jacen, the two barabel Jedi, Alema, Zekk is off somewhere in space, Raynar's an insect or whatever in "prison". Whatever list goes on. Anakin Solo could have been a Jedi Master by now if he lived, and I'd be happy with stories revolving around him, so you could finally retire Luke. But that's not going to happen now.

Why does everyone have a problem with Ben being Knighted? And the NJO never fell. They were only crippled.

Yes, yes... We've heard this. I've even stated this, but we can't change the past. On the plus side we have still Ben, Valin Horn, Jaina and Jag struggling to reign in the Empire, Zekk's not officially dead and there is plenty of room for new characters. And let's not forget Lowie!

Because Ben becoming a Jedi Knight and overall many aspects of his portrayal in LotF seem forced, it feels that the character is forced in a role that he realistically couldn't fullfill yet.

Of course the past can be changed; it's fiction. And it has been changed before in EU, so...
Jaina and Captain Cardboard will be off terrorizing the poor oppressed folks of IR, so when it comes to the Jedi, Jaina's out of the equation pretty likely and might well be the next big name casualty; according to Denning Zekk's dead for all purposes, but he just couldn't confirm it because he likes the character so much; Lowie's a marginal character currently and probably will never have a big role, and that's probably same kind of role - if any - junior Horn will have in the future.  And that just leaves Ben, the Boy Wonder with the saintly halo.

The authors are trying to make her an amazing Jedi so everyone will like her and get her into the spotlight...I say it's too late for that.
I don't think Luke couldn't kill Jacen, he just wouldn't. Which is why Luke should just go away. It's been like what 300 books in a row now where Luke just sits around and worries about the dark side? If that's all he's ever going to do just drop him down a mind shaft or something because it's really getting tiring.

I want to see Ben Skywalker get some actual training, Jaina got 3 or so books about her in Legacy so no more for now, Han and Leia a OG no doubt it would be interesting to see if Leia gets back on that training since she is caring after Allana(who's her Master?), Luke's BA, like to see him actually devote some attention to training his son, Lowbacca, Tenel Ka, etc...unworthy of comment. oh and Jag, I really want to see what happens with him and the Imp Remnant that leads to the galaxy as it is in 130 ABY

It's really hit me that the last name Solo will soon be dead in the future of SW.
That said, I actually like Ben Skywalker and never thought too much about him being a rip off of Anakin Solo until I started reading these boards. I'm glad Luke has a son and Ben is interesting.
As far as Zekk, unless the page actually says Zekk is dead he isn't dead (and even then).
If he is dead, then the way he died was a waste because they could have made his sacrifice even better and Jaina's loss to get to Jacen even stronger by making his death clearer. That's why I don't think he is dead, especially if Denning writes again.
But if Denning doesn't write for a while or if Allston decides it's time to kick into high gear the Jaina/Jag/Empire/Imperial Knights stuff, then Zekk may just be stuck in limbo.

This, but since its not possible (and I'm absolutely sad :\) then Allana, Leia, and Ben.
Leia is a pretty decent Jedi these days in terms of ability. I don't see why we haven't gotten any standalone novels with a mission or so for her and good ol' Han boy. Allanas growth should be interesting and while I'm still bitter about Ben I'd like to see a little more of him.
I'm absolutely sick of Jaina and never want to see her again. And if her actions in Invincible didn't happen I can't say I'd feel to differently. She's arrogant and infallible. I'm sick of her love stories and her character in general. Please fall to the dark side or die a horrible death.
