Very enjoyable, fast read. Rarely a dull moment, although I hope the movie will have much more story to offer. Because of Traviss' book I will now be going to see it opening day, rather than put it off like I was going to.

RE: The JC Lit Reviews Special: THE CLONE WARS (Spoilers)
At times very enjoyable. I get the vibe that there are scenes in the movie but not in the book, and the same otherwise. Makes it worth reading. I found Traviss' writing to be particularly enjoyable, and she has characterized Anakin the best of any author to date. One can really see the conflict within, and how the war will truly destroy him. Those who are worried about Traviss/Mando writing do not need to fear this one, it's good. The real downside is that it's a movie (TV show?) adaptation which is somewhat limiting story-wise (for any novel), and The Clone Wars is no exception. Heavy on action, light on dialog and story.

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the movie. Its not perfect, so I'm not going to give it a perfect score, but it was really good.

I like th book & absolutely hate it at the same time. Unfortunately what I hate far outweighs the things I liked in this book, namely the 2 stupid kids gobbling up way too much page time. I'm really too biased when it comes to children so I'm sure I didn't even give the Huttling & smart arsed Togruta a chance, but who cares?
Great characterizations for Anakin, Dooku, Ventress, Jabba & Rex, also very good fight scenes & much love formy new favorite SW author. Still not enough for me to want to re-read the book or even want to watch the movie & TV series.

Is this a one shot novel of just the movie that ignores some prior Clone Wars time frame events?
Or is it in complete continuity with the other Clone Wars novels such as Shatterpoint, The Cestus Deception, Jedi Trial, etc....?

It only ignores events in that a good two years of the Clone Wars are being cleared for the movie and TV show to play in. If you just read it in sequence with the other Clone Wars books, you shouldn't have a problem.

This book is very decent. Karen Traviss, I think made Anakin Skywalker almost perfect. Captain Rex is now one of my favorite characters.
The only downside is Obi-Wan. He should have been in more and Ventress, I didn't believe that she was that evil. Also, the ending was wrapped up to quick.
But, other than that, it was a really good book, and now I wish to read the Republic Commando series because of it.
