Cakhmaim clan Eikh'mir, to Leia posted:
"Still, while the Noghri people live, you shall always have a place of refuge among us. You and your children and their children. Always."

So, after re-reading TTT and HOT on a recent Zahn binge, I came across this quote. After pondering the implications in the current state of Star Wars, I had an epiphany: how cool would it be for Cade Skywalker to have his own Noghri entourage? I'm fairly certain Jon and Jan would be quite up to the task of integrating them into Legacy; heck, Cade could try to recruit them to help him in his quest to kill Krayt or something like that.

Your thoughts?

Do you think Krayt knows that?
If he did, what would be the first thing he would do about it? wink

Hmmm...well, Krayt has to know about the Noghri, because they were on the scene even during the Clone Wars. Whether he kept close enough tabs on Leia to find out about their debt to her, I don't know.

I'm curious as to why Krayt would know about the Nohgri as I don't think they are exactly common. We're they around during the Clone Wars? Vader clearly finds them post that period, And henceforth most were probably working directly for the Empire.

Of course I could be missing something, but it seems from my impressions that they were not common at all, Jedi Twilight cameo aside........

from the novels I never would have guessed that.

I've always kind of thought that the debt was just to Leia's family as in the Solo family. As Luke Skywalker in TTT and HOT books takes care of himself aside from one or two instances. And since they only guard Leia the most and not Luke I would think that debt would carry on to Jaina's children and not the Skywalker's even though they're the same family basically.

The Noghri owe everything to Vader & his family. For many, many, many generations to come.

So if Krayt finds out about them Noghri he cant exterminate them at all. Remember, the Noghri are the best assassins in the galaxy.

I wonder if they'll show up again in Millennium Falcon with a couple of new bodyguards for the Solo clan or if we'll get an explanation that ends their vow/debt.

...I give up, what is it?

Anyway, I always wondered why Luke never had Noghri following him around. Maybe they just either figured that he didn't need it or he refused it. Either way, they should be at his service as well if he ever needed them.

A Jedi Master having an entourage of Noghri assassins/warriors would give people the wrong impression.

Don't mess with the Jedi?... grin . That's exactly the impression I would want.

Luke could do that on his own, but it would be nice to see him having a few noghri chilling at the temple teaching noghri fighting techniques to the padawans. I would love to see a noghri Jedi in the future.

The Noghri act more or less as Leia's bodyguards. I think Cade would not be so interested in that, as bodyguards typically will die to save you and his mantra seems to be "Nobody dies for me never again!"
