He was one of Luke's buds on Tatooine. He made a small appearance in one of the deleted scenes of A New Hope (the one where Luke goes to Anchorhead and meets Biggs).

I have the DVD set that has the deleted Anchorhead scene with Biggs. Is he in that? I'll have to watch those again.

Isn't that Timothy Zahn?

Yeah, but there was a mid-90s meme among Luke/Mara fans called "how Zahn can fix this mess". Basically everything after TLC is all Luke's crazy dream, Luke and Mara are married (or at least shacking up), and Mara comments on just how weird Luke's dream is, all of which is a sliht against the various EU people post-TLC. Popular targets include Callista, Dark Empire, the Black Fleet Crisis, The Crystal Star, and just about anything by KJA.

Zahn did, of course, "fix this mess" with the Hand of Thrawn books, with some collaboration from Stackpole, who did his part to "fix this mess" with I, Jedi.

After Sacrifice, the Zahn fix was revived, with a new timeline. Basically, NJO and everything afterward is a dream.

Oh...I see
The Thrawn Trilogy was great, I wish it was longer. I read TLC in like two days, which is a record for me.

Thrawn was cool. Here's another meme:

Luke: You know, Leia, Anakin's dead because you couldn't control your Noghri.
Leia: My Noghri? I didn't kill our last chance at having Thrawn's expertise with the Vong.

It kinda went unsaid in the podcast but I feel there is a very slim chance of the comic ever coming out. It seems he was in talks with DH and they were at least entertaining the idea. He then jumped the gun and made the presentation with the cover that had the DH logo. This of course didn't sit well with DH. It seems to be that he shot himself in the foot. DH doesn't seem the least bit interested in working with him now from what I gather.

I agree, adding the DH logo may have been a bad Idea, but this "mistake" is getting alot of attention to the Fixer comic on boards and podcasts. What would have happened if he didn't put the logo?

I just heard on another website that Anthony Forrest was planning to make "Fixer" a web comic.

My name is Kevin Liell; I am the artist working with Anthony Forrest on our Comic, Fixer: From the Shadow of Twin Suns. I have received a few emails about this posting and I wanted to comment, to make things clear.
The comic is in the early stages. We have been creating all sorts of art for the story, and yes a mock-cover was also made.
As for what happened New York Comic Con. I was at the convention working with Lucasfilm on Star Wars events, I was asked by the organizers of New York Comic Con to assist with interviews. To help with my interview, I gave a disk with some artwork for Fixer: From the Shadow of Twin Suns to a convention tech-guy. This was to be a backdrop for the interview with Anthony. The mock cover, which was part of our proposal to Dark Horse and Lucasfilm, was on that disk. The cover being shown was a mistake, and ultimately, my mistake, not Anthony’s. I forgot it was on the disk, and I should have been more thorough.
From the Shadow of Twin Suns is still a work in progress. I hope it will see the light of day. Fixer was deleted from Star Wars 30 years ago; I would hate to see it happen twice.
