Looks really cool, love the art and glimpses of "normal life" in the galaxy. My comics budget is pretty tight and I haven't bought Star Wars funnybooks in a long time, but I may give this a shot.

It seems much more interesting than the Empire-Rebellion series.

Wow! How quickly their lives changed! In just an instant they went from normal everyday living to terror and death. These few short pages are really well done and draw the reader in. I know that these teaser pages made me anxious to read more. I didn't really like the NJO books, but perhaps if they had been done differently, I might have liked them better. I'm hoping to enjoy this comic version.

Hmmm.... If this guy was at Hoth, I wonder if he ever met Luke, Han, and Leia?

And yes, the art is excellent!

"Impressive".

It's getting good reviews across the board as a preview! What gives? happy

Heh, quite but to have COW contemplating a story set in the NJO era? That's impressive even for DHC.

The new Star Wars Zone at DHC has Jo Chen giving a step-by-step of her process for drawing the cover. It's VERY cool!

Definitely very good artwork. Nice to get some more background on the characters already, looks like Invasion is going to have a great beginning (not that that is all that big a surprise).
other than Finn I wouldn't be getting too attached to those characters lol

Nice preview. With the focus on original characters, I'm glad to see the cover is probably going to just be that--a cover and nothing more (although I won't rule out Luke and some Jedi arriving to save the kid, discovering his potential and then taking him to Yavin).

The reference to the Battle of Hoth was nice; that did in a few words what so many of the more recent books have been reneging on: emphasising the "next generation" aspect, reminding us that this is Post-GCW, the passing of the torch, how the Rebellion heroes are old timers, etc, etc.

The "dad" character may remain the background (though I can see him dying to cause the kid to struggle with his grief, and present an internal dark side struggle), but presumably the boy is the main character, so I like how the Rebellion was "yesteryear's day" and the Vong will be presented as "new". It's very much a Legacy feel even without being 100 years into the future.

I like the mature dialogue.

I liked it a lot. Well done! Real conversation, not quips and banter and villainous threats or armchair cat stroking.

Good art too. Overhead camera shots, close in.

Maybe... Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future. and there is conflicting information floating around. This is from the little plot summary for issue 3: For Finn Galfridian, who has already lost his family and witnessed the enslavement of his own world, this is his first taste of war -- and Luke is afraid it may be the boy's last. When face to face with the alien invaders, will Finn succumb to his anger, or follow Skywalker's orders? We won't know for sure until it comes out tho so who knows ^^

Ohh...

My guess about his father not being long for this world and him struggling with his inner anger was spot on then. laugh

yea I think so lol maybe it'll be a cool scene like Kol's last stand where Cade wanted to fight by his dad's side but Kol forced him to leave. Hopefully we won't get 40 issues of the new Cade set during the Vong war tho >_< lol
