Hello!
I was wondering if there's a series about the clone wars that is still on-going? I've been looking at the Wikipedia article
"List of Star Wars comics books: Attack of the Clones / The Clone Wars"
and it seems like there's only 2 comic series (
The Clone Wars
, and
Clone Wars Adventure
)
Unless I misheard, I'm pretty sure one of the hosts mentioned a new issue coming out of "a clone wars series" on the 16/04/09 episode (interview Henry Gilroy and Steven Melching) anyone knows about this? I haven't read the clone wars comic, so if anything I'll just pick that up at my local comic book store later today, but mainly I was wondering if there's ~another~ series still on-going?
My bad if this sounds like a stupid question, I'm just a little confused
Thanks!
- Alex

Clone Wars era recommendation (comics)
There are 4 Clone Wars-related comic series- 2 that were produced between the release of AOTC and ROTS, and another 2 currently produced that tie-in to the current TV series.
The "original" two were "Clone Wars Adventures" (digest-sized volumes themed after the original 2D Clone Wars micro-series cartoon, aimed at a slightly younger audience than typical SW fare) and material from the "Republic" ongoing series (as well as some one-shots and miniseries) set during the Clone Wars that was collected into "Clone Wars" trade paperback (full-sized) volumes.
Each series had 10 volumes released. I have a breakdown of these volumes
in this thread
.
The CW volumes are excellent and among the best SW comic material out there.
The "new" series (usually distinguished here as "The Clone Wars"/TCW, as opposed to just "Clone Wars"/CW) based on the TCW cartoon are "The Clone Wars" semi-ongoing comic (published ona bi-monthly basis), the first story arc (Slaves of the Republic) finished within the last month or two and will probbaly be in a collected volume sometime this year. The other series is a series of digest-sized volumes that are ALSO called "The Clone Wars" (so it can be easy to confuse them). Unlike the older Clone Wars Adventures series, these digests tell a single story instead of several. The first one was called "Shipyards of Doom" (based on an unproduced episode concept), the second "Crash Course" and the third "The Windriders of Taloraan".
Their decent reads with some fun moments, but, IMO, not as good as the prior CW material- but then TCW is aimed at a younger audience.

Clone Wars era question (comics)
Great reply! Everything makes a lot more sense now. I've also checked the comic book store earlier today and saw the different series so I'm not as confused anymore. About TCW: Slaves of the Republic, that's the first story arc in this series, has anything else been announced?
Again, thanks for the reply! Really appreciated

The second arc starts this month, it's "In the service of the Republic".
