The sequel should have Jax Pavan and Ahsoka. It should have them turn into zombies and it should end with them eating each other.

Jacen had learned that one can meet the Universe [...] with fear, or with hatred, or with despair.
Or one can choose to meet it with love.
Jacen had chosen.
But still, he was astonished to discover that the Universe could love him back.

Wow...this must be turned into a movie!! I love how detailed the author was...espeically the scene where the kid sees his brother into the room with the pile of dismemebered corpses..only to have his brother chase him while wearing a stormtrooper helmet...classic horror.

I did not enjoy the final chapter though. I wanted a few of the "zombies" to activiate their respective ships' hyperdrives and disappear. I didn't like the fact that the host dies if it is too far away from the rest.

Can't wait for the prequel.

For some reason I kept hearing HK-47's voice saying "Meat bag" throughout the whole book.

In a Sequel (not the prequel we are currently waiting for wink but another sequel) we need Alpha Red used during the Bothan Ar'kai on Vongformed and Vonginhabited Rodia.. with nice Vek'rodieks etc. A Hutt-Bothan Armada might quarantine the planet and spread Alpha Red yet it mutates and turns loose on the Armada as well. In order to protect the galaxy, the Commander orders all ships slaverigged and crashes them into the surface of Rodia where survivors of the crash and nightmares within the armada try to survive and find an antivirus with the help of a female Vong Shaper and a Jedi who they find and save from years of imprisionment by the Vong.

2 survivors, 1 Vong and 1 Bothan escape alive from an otherwise dead quarantined world... the Vong reaches Zonama Sekot and immunizes all there against Alpha Red... the Bothan returns home to his Bothan colony world... not knowing that he carries another plague... Shaper engineered version of Alpha Red only working on Bothans long after they spread it.

This is the first EU book I have read in months and it's left me salivating for more books to devour.(No pun intended)

However I did happen to find the ending a bit rushed. The zombies were dragging virus cannisters onto the spacecraft ready to spread the blackwing virus throughout the galaxy, Dr Cody is supposedly killed underneath an avalanche of rubble and a zombie managed to fight it's way on board the shuttle the survivors were escaping on.

I was expecting it to end on an exciting cliffhangar, already preparing to be blown away by an epic scale sequel when I noticed how few pages were left to go, and then Dr Cody appears out of the blue, shoots the zombie that was in the shuttle and explains how the blackwing virus can't survive a certain distance away from the source. That was very sloppy given the quality of writing that led upto the ending. frustrated

Does anyone else feel like they have been cheated out of a sequel?

I think a story like this might be better served by a prequel rather than a sequel. Mind you the disease is still out there! skull

Agreed with Chewgumma, the ending was definitely anti-climactic. Like I mentioned in the review thread, I kept waiting for a turbolaser bombardment to destroy the Purge and everyone else aboard once Vader got bored -- something to that effect. I kept waiting for some sort of conspiracy plot hatched by the Emperor or Vader to be revealed, something. Not only that, but we were led to believe that Von Longo's death somehow connected these characters in some unique way, but in the end we never really even found out how or why he died.

The sequel will most certainly need to take place in a completely separate setting with all new characters, or else it'll feel a bit stale and artificial to me.
