And lastly, besides Abel's somewhat prophectic last post in this thread, I'm bumping this for easier reference and discussion as I ordered a back issue of this just now so I can finally read the Emperor's Hands article, and I might want to follow up on it ::)

I own Gamer 5 for some time already, but somehow it is burried way too deep below my star wars archive. can somebody help me out with a transcripted copy so I don´t have to dig through my chaos?

And in case someone can, I can nowhere find Gamers #1-4, I hope you know how to get these issues, they are still missing in my collection. And I really need the anzati article in #1.

Hope you may be of any help, so I can discuss here the wonderful works.

Hey, thanks for bumping this 2ndQuest! This brings back some good memories.

Not coincidentally, a lot of the themes left hanging in the Emperor’s Pawns piece are being picked up, continued, or resolved in the Dark Forces series currently up at the Wizards website, including the fate of Jeng Droga and some Shira Brie action, with more to come.

Also, the recent History of the Mandalorians piece wraps up Sarcev Quest, while the “half-being/half-mechanical abominations” from Roganda Ismaren’s adventure seed are named and described in the recent Droids and the Force piece at starwars.com.

Thanks Kreuzader! Glad to see folks can still get their hands on it. My own copy is pretty beat up. happy

Take care,
Abel

I've got a copy that I borrowed from someone still sitting in my drawer again, buried underneath all the new supplementary material...

I should dig it out sometime. I liked the introductionary piece of that article.

yeah, i just ordered mine today- they 't have every issue but #5 is one of them thankfully.

I know this has been asked before, but where do Sarcev and Jeng originate from anyways?

My most important request to all the SW creators following up on these plot threads is simply this: "Don't screw up Shira Brie/Lumiya."

In what could be a "beware of what you wish for" situation, I would rather everyone just leave her character alone than to mess up the character.

Wizard's little account of her training at the academy and alluding her to be a bloodthirsty psycho willing to frag rival trainees early on in her military career was about the extent of the abuse against her character that I'm willing to tolerate.

She is the Emperor's and the Empire's greatest weapon. She not only topped her class at the Imperial Academy - she shattered all records in the history of the Imperial Academy. She's that good of a military leader. The best the Empire has ever produced.

And she's a Sith Lord. Not just any Sith Lord. But the next in line for Palpatine and Vader should Skywalker had not panned out.

And more than either of those - she's someone whom Luke Skywalker was beginning to recognize as having the qualities he wanted in a possible partner.

Anyone who understates these qualities is doing a disservice to the Star Wars franchise and its fans.

So, I beg again - just don't mess her up.

Heh, I have fond memories of first reading this issue of Gamer; seems like almost an eternity ago, now. Sometimes good reading is made even better by circumstance.

For those of you who just ordered it, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised with the plethora of information in this issue beyond even Abel's article - it also has the Campaign Guide to the Centrality, which includes the most information we've seen on that little-touched-on area of the galaxy since the Lando Calrissian Adventures; The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Chiss, which is the origin of the four-family societal structure and countless other tidbits about everyone's favorite blue-skinned near-humans; and Words to Live By, an excerpt from the book Bleeps, Bleats, & Boskas: The Star Wars Galaxy Phrase Book, that will have you speaking Huttese in no time; and, for those getting it still in the polybag, a Galaxy Map poster that predates the Insider one, and according to Tasty, is actually more accurate.

And, of course, it has Abel & Schwartz's article, the centerpiece of the magazine, which needs no further introduction.

Her levels in "Sith Lord" suggest otherwise to Tasty's whims.

It's this kind of idiocy and lack of respect for source material by these people that ticks me off.

All I ever hear around here is about Lumiya (sp?)...you'd think I hear it so much that I'd be able to spell it right...

Anyway, is she that cool or is she speculated to appear in a book soon? Help me out here...

I think it's less Tasty's whims and more LFL trying to adhere to Lucas' "the Sith died with Palpatine" edict. If we want to split hairs, I guess Lucas' statement(s) can be interpreted as Palpatine's Sith Order died with him, and Lumiya's is a "new", self-declared order. Although I suppose we can't really call it an order unless it survives her happy

Edit: Booster, here's her bio
