I'd have to be a real idiot to be able to read the Essential Chronology, Dark Empire, the Dark Empire guide, and the Dark Empire sourcebook and think that he's not the real thing personally dude.
I was only getting what I'd think of Ardus Kaine's mindset. He doesn't seem like the type to surrender easily any ounce of power he may gain.
Man, we need a Red Moons update.

"clone/imposter."
Just didnt' know what you meant out of that context actually.
As for ardus kaine the penistar allighnment article makes it painfully obvious starting out that he was a strong supporter of the emperor and his ways. So if the emperor returned he was willing to join right from the start. Yes he had power, but it was because he was good at being a leader, and a administrator. Even he knew that even more power and riches is possible under an empire ruled by a strong emperor. Which was main reason he was supporting of palpatine to his end in battle for his lord.

I have a question. When did Pellaeon ever give his allegiance to Isard? In the first four X-wing books, Pellaeon was under Thrawn, not Isard. In Isard's Revenge, he was still reeling over the death of Thrawn. Unless I missed something in that book, I didn't think he even knew she was still alive, let alone pledging his allegiance to her. And after that book, the whole situation is moot because she's dead. If it was in Isard's Revenge, please tell me where.

Essential Chronology...
He regrouped after Endor and turned his forces over to Isard.
Basically Pelleon always stuck with the "legitmate Imperial authority"
I just find it odd he'd find Isard more legitmate than the Commiteeof Grand Moffs or the Secret Order of the Emperor

The secret order of the emperor is in hiding.
The ones in open were imposters. Imposters who were controled by isard. The Grand moffs followed the imposters.
Pelleon was following the one who was in comand behind the scenes of them all, isard.
