We’re getting another moderator. That, I can pretty much guarantee. The problem is that the AC doesn’t really do much. They’ve basically atrophied, and now that we actually are finding stuff for them to do, no one is around to do it.
I would have liked to have had a new moderator by tomorrow, just in time for Destiny’s Way’s release, but even as we started the process I knew that was unlikely to happen. As things stand now, it’s my hope that we’ll have someone by Friday, but I can’t make any promises at all. If DK’s proposal succeeds in the Mod Squad (it’s getting about fifty percent for, fifty percent against right now, so it could go either way) then we could have one by then.

I think that's a good idea  THe list should be pretty devoid of your average idiot by the time the mods are through with it.

By all means, let's be pioneers!
Too many times in Comms I've seen users complain about not having any input as far as the Moderator selecting process goes. This would be a gigantic leap in the right direction as far as that goes.

Now I'm not going to get the image of Gandy being devoured out of my head.
Not totally a bad thing. 
Anyway, back on topic, as Gandy said, it's looking likely like we will have a new mod for Lit. Timing would have been nice, but really, unless we had them in to learn the ropes before DW's release, it wouldn't have made as big a difference. We're still looking at the viable alternatives for the system, but we definitely want to use Lit as a testing ground.

But seriously... I'm still not sold on the popular vote vs. Mod selection... I haven't yet voted yet either for "No real opinion"...
