Otis, last months's Previews has a work-in -progress image of Republic# 53's cover featuring Assajj and Durge done by Brain Ching. Dark Horse hasn't put it up online yet...

So she'll be in the very first comic featuring Mace Windu. I just wonder what her overall role in this series will be. I'm also willing to bet that the Clone Wars cartoon Ventress will be quite different than the one in the comic, but it would be great if they were the same.

Well, going by the article on TOS that announced the series, they made Ventress for the comics first, then the folks behind the cartoon took it from there, so I'm sure they're aware of the character's initial appearance and attitude, at least.
So, as a result, I don't think you'll see much of a change between the different portrayals of her.

I think the Jedi with the two blue bladed sabres is Mace's ld master. The one that taught him his unique vaapad sabre fighting style
On a sde not it seems that Tyranus has trained a small dark Jedi Order in the ten years he's bee missing from the Jedi Order. It seems that these dark Jedi act as Generals fpr the confederacy army. I wonder ifVentres replaces Sev Rance Taan as the primary Gneral of theConfederacy.

Baring in mind my EU knowledge stops with DarkSaber, but surely this could be a case of simply that both Dark Horse and Cartoon Network have both drawn on the same Ian McCraig preproduction for their characters?
It would suggest that either Lucasfilm Licensing got careless or just simply don't care that the design has been used before. Or perhaps since the comics are some sort of parallel offshoot to them, they doubt the need to keep strong continuity?

Actually, I think it is Sora Bulq- the Weequay Jedi. That picture is from SW Jedi: Mace Windu, where Mace goes after Jedi dissidents, of which Sora is one and apparently Ventress factors into it.

In the article on TOS, the cartoon guy says she the character and backstory was created by Darkhorse, and they took it from there.

From her appearance in the Mace Windu comic, some interesting details- Ventress's master apparently died and she considers Mcae to be among those chiefly responsible for abandoning him.
She flies a Geonosian-designed craft ala the solar sailor (though without the sails) and her two lightsabers can be connected together to form a double bladed lightsaber with an interesting S-shaped hilt.
