Colour of the lightsabres...

Hi,
I am rather confused here. On the Star Wars site and the databank, it portrays Jedi with sabres of other colours having sabres of 'the other colours'.
However, what I have seen in the episodes simple show them as light blue (coloured like the sabres in the original ANH [not the spec. edition one])... The mostr obvious one I have seen was the light blue sabre belonging to Sha'a Gi. On the site, he is shown with a bright green one...
The Siths got the red colour, though.
Are these colours what we're supposed to see and the ones on the site are 'special'?

There are three "standard" colors: Red for Sith, Green and Blue for the Jedi. Mace Windu has a Purple blade and he is the only Jedi that has the color blade, the crystal inside his blade is unique to his homeworld.
In the Expanded Universe there have been a couple other colors too. One of the members of the New Jedi Order has a Golden/Yellow blade, I think that is Jacen Solo and Kyp Duron has a Purple and White blade. As far as the standard universe goes, we've only seen four differently colored blades.

Slightly off topic but related ...... where do these crystals come from ? I thought the Jedi got them from the Jedi Temple ( crystals lying everywhere as seen in chap 14 ). So, is there a similar Sith Temple where you got only red crystals ? Or are these crystals found all over the galaxy, what with Mace finding his unique color on his home planet ? Kinda confused as to where all these crystals are found and how common are they ?

Blue and green crystals are found on Ilum. Mace's purple crystal was apparently found on Haruun Kal. Red crystals are synthetically made, so they're not naturally "found" anywhere.

It seems that the Jedi of the old Order got their crystals primarily from caves on Ilum. Members of the New Jedi Order, however, seem to use whatever they can find. That's probably why they have such varied blade colors, too.

Ganner Rhysode was the Jedi in the NJO who had the 'sulfurous' yellow blade.

I'm not debating the origin of Mace's crystal, but I remember seeing purple crystals in the caves on Ilum during the episode of Clone Wars with Luminara and Barris being attacked.

Thanks for reminding me, I couldn't think of the name of which "New Jedi" had that blade color. Do you recall what color Jacen Solo's blade is? He has a unique type of crystal in his blade too, I just didn't remember what color his blade is. Jacen has a special crystal that formed on the surface of the Yavin, a Corusca Gem. But I don't recall if it gave his blade a unique color or not.
Kyp Durron's blade ia a pulsating purple and white.

I find that to be a MAJOR mistake in the cartoon. It's an issue that was discussed in the forums during that episode. It is my belief that there should not have been any purple crystals on Ilum.
The standard crystal from Ilum is called an Adegan crystal, they are also referred to as Ilum crystals. Those purple crystals on Ilum shouldn't have been there. I'm fairly certain that the colorists screwed up.
Unfortunately it becomes a debate about Mace's lightsaber because his is supposed to be unique to his homeworld and if there are ton's of them lying around on Ilum, like the other crystals, then they aren't really unique to Haruun Kal. That and why then don't any other jedi have them?
It's gotta be a mistake.

Hmm... some of you appear to have mistaken my meaning. I'll try to rephrase it.
The colour of the lightsabres for the good jedi in the cartoon were all the same: Light blue.
However, when I see pictures of the cartoon on the starwars.com site, they show the Jedi carrying sabres with colours that differ from what I see on the cartoon.
One example is Sha'a Gi, who is seen on the cartoon carrying a light blue sabre. BUT in the character databank, is seen carrying a GREEN one.
So, my question is, is this 'light blue colour mistake' what everybody see, or is it just my television that's displaying the colours wrongly?

we all really know that mace windu's lightsaber is purple because samual l jackson is a BMF and wanted to be able to pick himself out from all the other jedis, right?

Wow, dude, your TV is messed up.  Shaa'Gi is most definitely carrying a green saber.

As was mentioned a couple of posts up, Jacen has a green blade. A couple of other notables in NJO that come to mind:
1)Anakin Solo - purple
2)Corran Horn - silver (but I believe the second phase of his "duel phase" saber is purple)
