Not much in the way of CW books this year (mostly wrapping up Legacy of the Force, and releasing the Coruscant Nights trilogy set after ROTS, The Force Unleashed novelization, with Shadows of Mindor hitting early next year, i think), though there is the 4th Republic Commando book, Order 66.
Dark Horse is supposedly going to have something that will tie into the new series, which is why they ended their Clone Wars Adventures series that was aimed at younger audiences, since that was based on the Clone Wars GT style.

The2ndQuest- You know I usually am pretty negative on my posts, but I have to admit that I'm really excited about this new Clone Wars cartoon series. I'm impressed with what little I have seen of this series.
I found out from eddie over at both the Official Site and the Dark Horse site that their are several clone war books coming out in the summer July 2008. One is an untitled K. Traviss novel that she says in one site that all would be revelaed soon, plsu several children fiction by two guys(never heard from them). Thier is also a DK book coming out.
I hope that this animation does really well both in the movies and the tele. I really do hope that Dark Horse does decide to come out with stuff in this series, they do produce very good stuff.

That's pretty sweet vong.
Traviss is a celebrated writer for her portrayal of the Clormtroopers, I can see her tackling the Clone Wars.
As far as a(nother?) Dark Horse comic series, that would be fine as well. I greatly enjoyed SW:Republic, thought the series touched on some themes that the films should have.
Then again, it would be weird to experience another Clone Wars campaign, since LFL did a great job with the CW:2D cartoons, various comic series, and the novelizations and video games....
It made sense to have the Clone Wars campaign inbetween AOTC and ROTS, but I'm not sure we need it now...

I don't think you';re gonna see a full on campaign this time around- it'll mostly be more children-oriented material, like Clone Wars Adventures, not full-on core titles like Republic.
Cool to hear about that Traviss book though.

I hope they also put out some behind-the-scenes type books like an "Art Of" book and a "Making Of" book for this series ala the ones they did for the movies. That would rock!

I just hope we avoid any sort of "Mandalorisation" of the Clones in the tv-series.

Pretty much any movie and especially movie sequel, is a money grab to one degree or another. And I wouldn't just lump it with everything else as "these types". This is the first full-length, legit SW TV series, with Lucas actively involved. This isn't a saga movie, but it isn't your run of the mill EU either.
While your opinions are valid and understandable, please believe me when say that fans everywhere could not have asked for a better person to head this project than Dave Falloni. Not only is he an exceptionally talented artist and director, but f ever there was an ultimate Star Wars fan, he IS it.

I read in another thread that he has a Plo Koon costume. That alone gives me high hopes!
Whether it's a grab for cash or not, as a fan I'm just damn excited.

From, http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4522&Itemid=99
The footage began with Anakin and his apprentice Ahsoka traveling to a major clone wars battle. They deploy with a bunch of clonetroopers and lead an attack straight up the side of a mountain to a base at the top. The vehicles they're traveling in actually turn and start climbing vertically up the rock while the Jedi follow on ropes.
Following that there was a montage of footage with Duel of the Fates playing over it. There was one sequence where Count Dooku dispatches Asajj Ventress to find Jabba the Hutt's son in an effort to win his favor.

From, http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/03/14/showest-warner-brothers-summer-to-remember/
Last, but not least, George Lucas took the stage with his army of Clone Troopers to present a brief clip from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Back in February we announced that Clone Wars would be launching in theaters with a 100-minute movie before it heads to the small screen. Exciting news, although I wasn't sure whether this was a good idea, after today, I'm convinced it will be. The scene was a short battle scene where Anakin and his padawan Ahsoka are fighting some enemies at the top of a giant rock wall. There was also a brief bit of a fight between Obi-Wan and a female Sith villain who had two red lightsabers. I got so into the scenes and fighting that when it ended abruptly, literally I wanted to do is sit there and finish watching the entire movie. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it pulled me and I was enjoying what I saw.
