"Spice freighter", actually, and I hadn't thought of that, but then Anakin must have been on other freighters before, so it's hard to say this is the actual one (plus, how would Owen know?).

I just caught the new trailer. I'll definately be watching this. Though I cant help thinking how detatched it feels from the original movies. Makes it difficult to imagine this all took place in the same universe.

I just got my movie poster in the other day and I noticed that it gets a PG rating in part for a short smoking scene. I'm guessing Jabba smokes from his pipe or someone gets hold of some death sticks.

So...Jabba's son is named "Stinky." I guess for a plot point so stupid it deserves a totally lame name anyway. I continue to look for positive things to say about this film, but even "eye candy" is tempered by some questionable animation and character models.

It's actually Rotta, "Stinky" is apparently a nickname he receives.

I don't understand how someone could not like the animation. It looks awesome. The character models look so much better than any human character in the Shrek films.

Well a lot of people just hate anything to do with the prequels and post-'83 Star Wars. The style isn't Pixar or Jimmy Neutron or Final Fantasy and those seem to be the only 3 categories that people can fathom. It's basically the Tartakovsky style realized as CGI.

Oh I love Tartakovsky's style, the new series doesn't really emulate it well though. If it is supposed to in the first place, that is. I mean if you look at the models for Anakin, Obi Wan and Jabba, they look like they are from three different series (semi-real "Shrek"ish style for Anakin, stylized Tartakovsky for Obi Wan, and kindergardenish something for Jabba). I wouldn't complain much for a TV series because TV has inconsistent modelling and animation like that, its just a shame that they are selling this as a feature-film because it doesn't have the production values. And when you're main selling point is "eye candy" its all about the production values.

Personally, I think the style looks great. I am not really one for cartoons, but I think what they are doing with this one is really cool.

The main selling point is that it's more Star Wars. And I guess "eye candy" depends on the individual. I think it looks excellent.

I think it works making the alien characters look more "cartoony" than the humans, but I agree that Obi-Wan doesn't look as good as Anakin (Dooku, either - it's those dang beards!).

But I dig Anakin and Ahsoka, and since they will most likely be getting the most screen time it should be good. I also love how Kit Fisto looks. So yeah, you're right in that it is not entirely consistent, but the stuff that looks good I am really loving grin

I very much doubt that this CW feature is anything that can hold up to -even- the prequels.

The storyline sounds lame.

Jabba's son has been kidnapped, like who cares?

Anakin has a padawan.... hmmmmmkayyyyyy

Obiwan goes to negotiate with Jabba ... it's like RotJ all over, and even worse, this will make Obiwan very recognizable as a Jedi for a lot of criminals when he goes into hiding on Tatooine.

I'm looking forward to it because it's SW, but I'm afraid it will be really bad.

Well said. I'm basically in agreeance with WW9 on that one. It's all down to how we perceive it.

By the way, where was Jabba's son's name announced?

The guy controls a whole planet and a galaxy spanning criminal organization. I think the whole galaxy cares. Whichever side of the war the Hutt clan ends up on would have his vast wealth on their side, so it's a big deal.

The Clone Wars gets a PG rating.

Not much of a surprise there really...I expected it to be that way since I heard about it.

Being G would be too lame and childish, yet PG-13 would be too "graphic".

When can we get a rated-R Star Wars production.
