adx posted: So you think that it is going to be seprate relases but not doubling up on each other meaning that the dvd of the movie will be just the first 3-4 episodes of the series and then the series dvd will follow with episode 5 ?
I'm thinking we're going to see a DVD release of the 80 or 90 minute movie by itself. But I think we could ALSO see it with the series when the first season gets released. Even though you can buy the boxed set of the classic trilogy, you can still get ANH, ESB and ROTJ separately.
Also, I'm wondering if we'll see a theatrical release every year before the season starts. That could also play into it.

The movie has been confirmed to be just over 2 hours long, so it's not the first 3 or 4 episodes slapped together. Warner Bros is already said to have the DVD release planned, and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get the movie out on DVD before Christmas.

Sublime posted: DN- that arcade game defined my childhood! I loved playing that game, blowing up the death star, fighting on hoth, speeder bikes, bobba fett and Vader. That would be awesome if they made a game like that for Wii. I still wish they made video games of either episode of the Saga- ROTS style, playing as the main characters and following the plot of the movie. I don't know 'bout chall but I'd buy it.
To tell you the truth, I never did that good on it! I wish I had...I wish I knew where one was, actually. That game was a blast.

No, it came out 10 years ago.

If we're talking about Star Wars trilogy arcade, it was released in 1997 along with the re-release of the SE in theatres. If that's the one we're talking about I would've only been 8 which I still considered my childhood. I saw SW for the first time in '97 and would go to the theatre just to play that game day and night.
WookieWarrior9- I wouldn't be suprised if it was out before Christmas either. It's released August 15th in theatres so I wouldn't be suprised if Lucas stretched out the time till it's released till about two weeks before Christmas.

The little pink droid has become somewhat of a symbol of the charitable nature of SW fans.

Well that's even better! More Star Wars is always good with me. The PT DVDs always came out the first week in November, so I could see a Decemember release especially with there being a series.
And I don't mind having that droid in there. It's a little ode to the fans.

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool. It could turn out to be Ahsoka's droid.

Four episodes would be just under 4 hours long. With additional scenes added to tie those 4 episodes together that would put it at just over 2 hours long.

Well it depends how long those additional scenes are. I happen to think this was always planned as a TV movie and decided to put it on the silver screen.

I assumed this was going to be a half-hour (30 minute) animated show; actual show time is down to what, 20-22 minutes? So 4 episodes would be about 80-90 minutes.
Anyway, here's a link to the trailer for TCW video game; looks like it will be pretty fun, plus has some GREAT cutscenes from the film itself:

Hard to tell if the game deals with, say, the first season of TCW, or just the film.
Because, judging by the trailer, it looks like we will be seeing Grievous, which can only be good news.
