The author of the Han Solo Trilogy expressed interest in writing a Leia Trilogy, but was denied as it would have potentially stepped on the toes the then-upcoming prequels.

How good will it actually look, though? Some TV series' can look a bit shabby. Are ILM doing the visuals? Also, I hope the camera doesn't have that kind of 'TV series look' to it. I want them to actually bare the same resemblance to the films.
I must say, I'm quite excited for a live-action TV series. But the idea also fills me with dread. I don't want my beloved Star Wars to become a Star Trek rip-off. If we were to get more films, though…….

Given their experience in movies, I don't imagine the TV series being *much* different. Assuming they use regular sets and backdrops I imagine they'd be of the same style and quality of the ones for the movies. They already have them generated, so I don't see why they wouldn't use existing style types.

Maybe- but keep in mind they were just covering their bases with that- there were no concrete plans about what would happen at the time, but they figured it might be something Lucas would cover with his stories, and so they didn't want to cover that territory in a book so as to avoid a possible continuity conflict.

I want to see Yoda fight a dark Jedi
I think it will be about the origins of the Rebellion...space skirmishes and enough interesting cameos and tidbits to make most Star Wars fans change gulp with aniticpation.
I don't want to see long conversations between boring politicians. If I could get some Obi-Wan though...the force would be complete.

We've been told the series is likely to be at the end of the decade, so 2009-ish for a release date. If that's the case, shooting will probably start in either mid/late 2008 or early/mid 2009 (depending on when the air date is meant to be and how many episodes they're filming at once).

I just hope if GL is writing, he gets a group of writers on board who have experience in writing for television. I have heard that writing for tv and the big screen is very different.
Maybe he will get Joss Whedon to help him out!
I'm just glad we'll be getting more Star Wars
And on IMDB they have the release date of an untitled tv show as 2008. BUt it could change, who knows?
