Whedon sucks? Well, he's not my cup o' tea, but he did strike a chord I guess. He does NOT belong in Star Wars, though - I still stick to this, as I am never wrong - "J" Canon! 
I don't think the show will blow at all. It's STAR WARS!!!!!!!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Loved Whedon's work but it is wrong for Star Wars. However some of his writers could be good. David Fury would be really good for a darker toned star wars. His work on Angel/LOST/24 has been very good.

Agreed. If there is a problem I have with his work it's that it's a bit too witty. Sometimes I expect the characters to turn and wink at the camera, but all in all he did a wonderful job, but he's not Star Wars. I wouldn't be surprised if they looked at Jane Espenson as well, since I'm pretty sure they've finished the scripts for Battlestar.

Yeah, I could see Fury.
I'm simply saying that if we take out Jedi, have no instantly recognizable PT/OT characters, is it still Star Wars?
EU fans would probably say yes, but I'm not so sure. And if you need casual fans to watch for this show to be successful, and they have nothing to relate to it as being Star Wars, will it fly?
Doesn't it just become another cheap, Sci-Fi show that's just lucky to have the words Star Wars across the top?

Never ever been a fan of JW. Thought he was highly overrated. I'll give the series a try though. Interested in seeing how it will be. TV and the format is changing so much these days.
