He is the Senator for Naboo (or at least Represenative).
Depending on what they do, he could have something to say about Padme's death or the Imperialization of Naboo or the loss of the Jedi. Anything really.
Be brought back just to be killed? Not likely.

I've liked Jar Jar since I saw him in Episode I, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in the TV series, though I think it's unlikely he will be in it.

It's Lucas. I think it's fairly obvious there's going to be CG in the show, and most likely some CG characters, especially aliens. Lucas may well rework and incorporate the cut "Birth of the Rebellion" scenes from RotS into the show, which would be the perfect place to show Jar Jar.

I thought he was on Naboo...
Anyway, I see Jar Jar as a moot point. He was in the movies, he failed as a character, and there's no need to bring something back into the picture that didn't work to begin with. It'd be like re-releasing the Holiday Special, it didn't work then and it's not gonna work now.

Exactly. To most people, Jar Jar is a failed character. Lucas meant him to be funny and charming, but he sure as heck did not come off that way. Lucas made a mistake with Jar Jar,and his vastly reduced role in AOTC and non speaking appreance in ROTS seem to indicate that Lucas realizes this, and we won't be seeing Jar Jar in the TV show.
