It would be exciting to see him make an appearance on the show. If anyone is interested in seeing him perform in person, he will be in Faith Healer in New York this Spring. See the Ian McDiarmid Yahoo Message Board Group for more information. The link is below.

I'm pretty sure Ian, Ewan, or other main guys from the films would make cameos, since Lucas had Harrison Ford make a cameo as Indy in the Young Indy Chronicles.

Some of them such as Ian and Ewan have already expressed interest in occasionally appearing in the Star Wars Live Action TV Series.

But you'll remember he was referred to often without actually appearing in the first Star Wars movie. And Peter Cushing was his very effective representative.

Could Tarkin be one of the main characters? thinking

I wonder what Ewan would do for occasional appearances though?

Lol, Harrison Ford wasn't very enthusiastic about that cameo. I think they filmed it at his own home, because he didn't want to go the ranch.

After reading this post I am very excited about this new tv series. Even if half of the stuff does not come to fruition that has been mentioned here, it has opened me up to all of the possibilities. It made me realize that there are a lot of really exciting options for them to use here. Remember in the OT, when they would briefly mention planets and characters like, Kessel, Sullust, and Dantooine? Those brief moments fired my imagination and other fans like me. With this tv series comes the potential to discover more about the places and characters.

I do think, however, that certain character appearances are neccessary to "anchor" the whole series. I think the new series must involve Vader in some form or other. Like many have said before me, any big guy can play Vader and JEJ can easily do "the voice". Ian as Palpatine would be great. I don't like Morrisson or Logan as Fett, I have never accepted the whole Kiwi thing. Bulloch as the original Fett was spot on, and that mystique that was created was part costume, but also a large part due to the few words that he uttered in the movie. I think an episode set on Tatooine with Ewan would be a dream come true for Star Wars fans. Getting to see a young Luke, and how Obi Wan interacts with that situation is the stuff of my early childhood dreams. That would be GREAT! I think it would be great to give us a little Yoda too, even if it was just voice stuff. But there are just so many possibilities here with this.

Exciting stuff, indeed. I will hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. LOL

I don't mean to mention Star Trek here. ( worried ) I've never been a huge fan of that, but anyway, here's the point.

In Voyager, The Borg Queen appeared several times. Alice Krige from First Contact reprised her role from the film. So, that is just an example of a character in a TV series being played by the same person who played them in the movies.

Yes, any guy can play Vader. He doesn't even have to speak too much even. I like the idea of Tarkin being a key player as well. But they have to really act like Peter Cushing.

Yes but I was thinkin git'd be hard to have the Emperor without Vader.

Not really, as seen in the movies Vader isn't always at the Emperor's side. Besides, why can't we have both? Anyone can play the body of Vader, then you just get JEJ to do a few lines and *boom* Vader baby! I can picture him doing small cameo appearences as opposed to huge story arcs all about Palpatine. Maybe some scenes of someone watching him address the senate on the holonet or something.

And with James Earl Jones doing Verizon commercials, I don't think he'd be too opposed to a few brief vocal guest appearances in the TV series, especially considering how brief his part was in ROTS. But we'll see.

Is the series still slated for sometime this year? Or further, still?

The Live Action TV show will probably be coming out near the end of the Decade.

everything is pure speculation at the moment but with something as groundbreaking as sw,i can imagine numerous cameos from established sw stars as well as guest stars on a regular basis,if shows like friends and will and grace can attract a listers, surely sw can.

When actor Ian McDiarmid, who played Emperor Palpatine in the films, was asked if he'd be making an appearance in the series, he replied, "I always answer my telephone." He also stated, "nobody really knows the details of the television series, I don't think that's because people are being particularly coy. I just think a lot of things haven't been decided yet. But I know that George's intention is to follow one of the characters who's been less highlighted up to now, but has been very popular with audiences. And sure, if it's the period between the movies, the Emperor has to be referred to. But you'll remember he was referred to often without actually appearing in the first Star Wars movie. And Peter Cushing was his very effective representative. So, I suspect there might be a number of very effective representatives."

Hmm what character should that be........let me think. Is it Bail Organa? Yoda???? beatup Han Solo(there must be a reason why they didn't let him appear as a young kid amongst the wookies)What do you al think?
