>> I was under the impression the EU was not allowed to try to explain things.<<

Certain topics (like Yoda's species, Palpatine's origins, the Whills, etc) are off-limits, but the EU is allowed to explain pretty much anything else (Anakin's scar, various references mentioned in the films but not shown, etc).

>>Remember something of GL, he does all his extra tv work with star wars revolving arund the movie series... So any questions answered will most likely be in the context of the movie series and not the overall eu. Of course, like it has been said before, GL ... dosen't have to follow the continuity of the eu.<<

You are, however, forgeting GL won't be directly involved with Clone Wars and won't be running the live action show either, which means someone else appointed by LFL will be in charge and likely coordinating with the other folks at LFL. Factor in the collaboration between the Clone Wars cartoons and Lucasbooks & Dark Horse Comics, as well as the fact that the person in charge of the CGI Clone Wars cartoon requested copies of all the various Clone Wars material published for reference, plus LFL currently classifying TV content as EU and things look more and more likely you will see more dovetailing between the various projects.

It would be nice if they all worked together for once, Shadows of the Empire style.

Well, they sorta did with the Clone Wars campaign- it just ran into problems resulting from the production schedule dictated by the need to have LOE and CW out before ROTS hit.

I am out of the loop on this one (don't want to know too much too soon), but I would like to know if anyone knows the timeframe for the series?

The live action series will be somewhere between ROTS and ANH.

That project was brilliant! Ever read the "Making of" book about it?

I think that the reason why people tend to somtimes dislike StarWars which includes some of the fans is because Lucas makes them ask questions, makes thing confusing, and he does not have the Answers. I mean his ideas are cool and we the fans know the world but he just makes thing confussing, after all he created the cool Gaxley and the Special effects. I have help turn no-StarWars fans into becoming fans. Plus he made Jar Jar Binks he destroyed everything. Had he focus more on the plot of The Phantom Meance it would of been a better movie.

i think for every 1 person who dislikes the saga cos it raises unanswered questions-there are millions that love for the same reason, its multi-layered and sometimes a cool costume can fire ones imagination,i.e i wonder what his story is?thats why all questions will never be answered-i never knew the mon calamari and the quarren shared a planet-call me petty but that was cool for me to learn!too much depth to ever answer everything-thank god!

I'm a London commuter. In this morning's Metro there is an interview with Rick McCallum. Here is a quote regarding the forthcoming Star Wars TV series:
"Hopefully, at the end of that, we'll have answered every single question any fan has ever asked".
Sexy!

Obiously unture considering most questions lie in the EU in the distant past, and the series is just going to be some Star Wars Episode 3.5 type thing. However it could clear some things up that Lucas let slip, such as continuity/cannon/lore inconsistencies, and more fleshing out of the era.

What I'm afraid of is we were talking the other night at work about the TV show & came up with what if the TV show is just to feul the fire for a remake of the OT so that the flow is better remeber the prequle generation may not like the OT & the remake with current Tech & special effects could be good I admit I would not Could not watch a redo but many would flock to the theaters to see a compleatly repaired & redone OT ....Just not me

essentially what occurs between the end of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. Aren't you interested to know what Vader got up to in the 20 years between ROTS and ANH ? Got to be filled of evil-doing and rampaging.

Sadly Vader is unlikely to be in the TV show but seeing Stormtroppers controling the galaxy might be interesting.

However, the whole development of non-Skywalker characters has the potential to be interesting. People go crazy for the characters in KOTOR who are never so much as mentioned in the movies, but are deep well thought out characters.
