It's a popular idea apparently, or at least it's a common topic. I have seen art for a Star Wars anime all over the Internet, but is there an official SWanime? I know for a fact there is a manga...

Don't start, I didn't ask for the anime-hater's opinion. 
I'm just wondering if there was an animated series, since there is a manga and the art is a common sight on the web.

So far, there isn't a series. Personally, I'd rather like one  The books look great (although I haven't got them yet, just flicked through them in comic shops) and I'm always up for a new way to experience the greatest film saga of all time 
3D version or Anime sounds great to me. So long as it's not a straight re-make

I would except it to be comparable to the clone wars cartoon, so I can't see why fans would be annoyed by an anime series, especially since it would be Old Trilogy. 
A 3D Star Wars would be nice if it was done right, but it never usually is. Coincidentally I can't stand anything made by pixar... but Final Fantasy is proof I love that kind of art.

I don't think I would like Star Wars to be filled with underaged panty-shots, tentacle sex, speedlines, people with huge eyes screaming with gigantic mouths "I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!", and an intro song subtitled in the worst Engrish imaginable, but the animation style would certainly be better than that Powerpuff garbage.

I can see it now: Right out of Japan, someone produces Star Wars lolicon set between ROTS and ANH, which involves Luke and Leia.

I would love to see Shadows of the Empire done as anime. Something about the story has always just seemed anime to me.

I know it doesn't look like an anime, but, isn't Clone Wars, like, exagerated like an anime? That's kind of my interpretation of it... But I don't watch anime. So, don't take my word for it...
